METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR PROCESSING PENTANES
A method for processing pentanes obtained from a DIB unit is disclosed. The process can include separating a first stream containing pentanes obtained from a DIB unit, in a separation column to obtain a second stream comprising iso-pentane and a third stream comprising n-pentane and neo-pentane; and subjecting the third stream to a butane isomerization unit producing a fourth stream containing iso-pentane, n-pentane, and neo-pentane.
Naphtha complex with thermal oxidation system
A process for treating effluent streams in a naphtha complex is described. One or more of the sour water stripping unit for the NHT sour water from the NHT, the amine treatment unit and the caustic treatment unit for the NHT stripper off-gas, the caustic scrubber unit or other chloride treatment unit for the off-gas from the C.sub.5-C.sub.6 isomerization zone and the C.sub.4 isomerization zone, and the caustic scrubber unit or other chloride treatment unit for the regenerator off-gas are replaced with a thermal oxidation system.
CATALYST BASED ON IZM-2 ZEOLITE WITH A LOW CONTENT OF ALKALI METAL, AND USE THEREOF FOR THE ISOMERIZATION OF AROMATIC C8 CUTS
A catalyst containing a IZM-2 zeolite and a specific content of alkali metal or alkaline-earth metal compounds, and a process for the isomerization of an aromatic C8 cut using the catalyst.
Process for the Recovering of Paraxylene
Disclosed herein are processes for recovering paraxylene in which a first simulated moving bed adsorption unit is used to produce a paraxylene-rich extract stream that also contains a significant amount of the ethylbenzene and a paraxylene-depleted raffinate stream. Because a significant amount of the ethylbenzene is removed in the paraxylene-rich extract stream (at least enough to limit buildup in the isomerization loop), the paraxylene-depleted raffinate stream may be isomerized in the liquid phase. Avoiding vapor phase isomerization saves energy and capital, as liquid phase isomerization requires less energy and capital than the vapor phase isomerization process due to the requirement of vaporizing the paraxylene-depleted stream and the use of hydrogen, which requires an energy- and capital-intensive hydrogen recycle loop.
Process for isomerizing isobutane
A process for increase conversion and yield and selectivity to normal paraffins by reducing the hydrogen to hydrocarbon ratio for paraffin feeds with substantial butanes. The process works best with a low concentration of heavies and cyclics in the isomerization feed. High normal ratios of equilibrium, isobutane conversion, normal paraffins yield and selectivities are achieved for naphtha feed at low ratios of hydrogen to hydrocarbons.
METHOD FOR PRODUCING PROPYLENE OLIGOMER
Provided is a method for producing a propylene oligomer, which is advantageous in that a lowly branched propylene oligomer can be obtained at high selectivity. A method for producing a propylene oligomer, including an oligomerization step of oligomerizing propylene at lower than 160° C. in the presence of at least one member selected from a group consisting of a catalyst containing crystalline molecular sieve and a catalyst containing phosphoric acid, a fractional distillation step of obtaining a fraction containing a propylene trimer, a propylene tetramer, or a mixture thereof, and an isomerization step of isomerizing the propylene trimer, propylene tetramer, or mixture thereof contained in the fraction in the presence of a catalyst containing phosphoric acid.
METHOD FOR UPGRADING BIO-BASED MATERIAL AND UPGRADED MATERIAL
Provided is a method for upgrading a bio-based material, the method including the steps of pre-treating bio-renewable oil(s) and/or fat(s) to provide a bio-based fresh feed material, hydrotreating the bio-based fresh feed material, followed by separation, to provide a bio-propane composition.
PROCESS FOR THE MANUFACTURE OF DIESEL RANGE HYDROCARBONS
The invention relates to a process for the manufacture of diesel range hydrocarbons wherein a feed is hydrotreated in a hydrotreating step and isomerised in an isomerisation step, and a feed comprising fresh feed containing more than 5 wt % of free fatty acids and at least one diluting agent is hydrotreated at a reaction temperature of 200-400° C., in a hydrotreating reactor in the presence of catalyst, and the ratio of the diluting agent/fresh feed is 5-30:1.

PROCESSES FOR CONVERTING C8 AROMATIC HYDROCARBONS
Processes for converting C8 aromatic hydrocarbons. In some embodiments, the process can include feeding a gaseous hydrocarbon feed that can include meta-xylene, ortho-xylene, or both into a conversion zone. The process can also include contacting the gaseous hydrocarbon feed with a catalyst that can include a ZSM-11 zeolite in the conversion zone under conversion conditions to effect isomerization of at least a portion of any meta-xylene, or at least a portion of any ortho-xylene, or both to produce a conversion product rich in para-xylene. In some embodiments, the ZSM-11 zeolite can have an alpha value of 1 to 3,000 and a molar ratio of silica to alumina of from 15 to 200.
