PLASMA CONVERSION REACTOR OF C02 WITH C1 TO C4 HYDROCARBON TO C1 TO C5 OXYGENATE AND METHOD THEREOF
An apparatus for forming a C1 to C5 oxygenate from carbon dioxide and a C1 to C4 hydrocarbon is described. The apparatus comprises: a dielectric barrier discharge, DBD, device arranged to generate a plasma; and a passageway having an inlet for the carbon dioxide and the C1 to C4 hydrocarbon and an outlet for the oxygenates. In one example the passageway includes therein a catalyst. The passageway extends, at least in part, through the DBD device wherein, in use, the carbon dioxide in reacted with the C1 to C4 hydrocarbon in the generated plasma, thereby forming the oxygenates from at least some of the carbon dioxide and the C1 to C4 hydrocarbon. The DBD device comprises a conducting liquid as a ground electrode. A method and a use are also described.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR TWO-STEP SIMULTANEOUS CONVERSION OF CARBON DIOXIDE (CO2) AND HYDROCARBON CONTAINING AT LEAST ONE HYDROXY GROUP
Proposed is a two-pot-two-step simultaneous conversion system for carbon dioxide and a hydrocarbon containing at least one hydroxy group and a method thereof. The system integrates a process of producing a metal salt that is a dehydrogenated form of the hydrocarbon, hydrogen, and water by reacting a hydrocarbon containing at least one hydroxy group in the presence of water and a metal oxalate, and a process of converting carbon dioxide or carbon dioxide-derived carbonate into formate by hydrogenation, thereby increasing energy efficiency while maintaining a higher hydrocarbon conversion rate and a higher carbon dioxide conversion rate than the one-pot conversion system for hydrocarbon and carbon dioxide.

FORMING ACETIC ACID BY THE SELECTIVE OXIDATION OF METHANE
Methods and a reactor system for producing acetic acid in a selective oxidation (SO) reactor are provided. An example method includes providing a fresh feed stream to the SO reactor, wherein the fresh feed stream includes a methane feed stream, a carbon dioxide feed stream, and a steam feed stream. Acetic acid is formed in the SO reactor. An acetic acid product stream is separated from a reactor effluent stream in a scrubber. A recycle gas stream is obtained from the scrubber. At least a portion of the recycle gas stream is combined into the fresh feed stream to the SO reactor.
