A modified UZM-14 zeolite is described. The modified UZM-14 zeolite has a Modification Factor of 6 or more. The modified UZM-14 zeolite may have one or more of: a Si/Al.sub.2 ratio of 14 to 30; a total pore volume in a range of 0.5 to 1.0 cc/g; at least 5% of a total pore volume being mesopores having a diameter of 10 nm of less; a cumulative pore volume of micropores and mesopores having a diameter of 100 Å or less of 0.25 cc/g or more; or a Collidine IR Bronsted acid site distribution greater than or equal to an area of 3/mg for a peak in a range of 1575 to 1700 cm.sup.−1 after desorption at 150° C. Processes of making the modified UZM-14 zeolite and transalkylation processes using the modified UZM-14 zeolite are also described.
METHOD FOR PRODUCING LIGHT AROMATIC
A method for producing light aromatics, includes the steps of: i) contacting a feedstock comprising heavy aromatic(s) with a catalyst in a fluidized reactor for aromatics lightening reaction in the presence of hydrogen to obtain a product rich in C6-C8 light aromatic(s) and a spent catalyst, wherein the heavy aromatic is one or more selected from C9+ aromatics; ii) separating the resulted product rich in C6-C8 light aromatic(s) to obtain hydrogen, a non-aromatic component, C6-C8 light aromatic(s) and a C9+ aromatic component; and iii) recycling at least a part of the C9+ aromatic component to the fluidized reactor. The method has strong adaptability to feedstocks and high flexibility in operation and allows a long-period stable operation. The method can produce high-value light aromatics from heavy aromatics that are difficult to be treated and utilized.
Production of Alkylaromatic Compounds
A process for producing a monoalkylated benzene comprises contacting benzene with a mixture comprising dialkylated and trialkylated benzenes in the presence of a transalkylation catalyst composition under transalkylation conditions effective to convert at least part of the dialkylated and trialkylated benzene to monoalkylated benzene, wherein the catalyst composition comprises a metallosilicate zeolite comprising openings defined by 14-membered rings of tetrahedrally coordinated atoms and the transalkylation conditions include a temperature in the range of 160° C. to 220° C.
Methods of heavy reformate conversion into aromatic compounds
Method of making BTX compounds including benzene, toluene, and xylene, including feeding heavy reformate to a reactor containing a composite zeolite catalyst. The composite zeolite catalyst includes a mixture of layered mordenite (MOR-L) comprising a layered or rod-type morphology with a layer thickness less than 30 nm and ZSM-5. The MOR-L, the ZSM-5, or both include one or more impregnated metals. The method further includes producing the BTX compounds by simultaneously performing transalkylation and dealkylation of the heavy reformate in the reactor. The composite zeolite catalyst is able to simultaneously catalyze both the transalkylation and dealkylation reactions.

CIRCULAR ECONOMIC METHODS FOR FRAGRANCE INGREDIENTS
Disclosed is a method for converting cymene generated from renewable low value terpene streams into renewable benzene, toluene, xylenes, and cymene isomers (ortho and meta) under flow disproportionation reaction conditions, which compounds are basic building blocks for fragrance materials. This technology has potential to replace high volume petrochemical-based feedstocks with plant-based building blocks that can fill the renewability gap for key fragrance ingredients.
Catalyst for producing C8 aromatic hydrocarbon having reduced ethylbenzene content and preparation method therefor
Disclosed are a catalyst and a preparation method therefor, the catalyst being able to maintain a high production yield of C8 aromatic hydrocarbons in the process of converting a feedstock containing alkyl aromatics to C8 aromatic hydrocarbons such as mixed xylene through disproportionation/transalkylation/dealkylation while reducing a content of ethylbenzene in the products.
Catalyst compositions and their use in aromatic alkylation processes
Catalyst composition which comprises a first zeolite having a BEA* framework type and a second zeolite having a MOR framework type and a mesopore surface area of greater than 30 m.sup.2/g is disclosed. These catalyst compositions are used to remove catalyst poisons from untreated feed streams having one or more impurities which cause deactivation of the downstream catalysts employed in hydrocarbon conversion processes, such as those that produce mono-alkylated aromatic compounds.
Catalyst for converting alkylaromatic hydrocarbon and preparation method thereof
Disclosed are a bifunctional catalyst and a preparation method therefor, the bifunctional catalyst being suitable to produce high-value aromatic hydrocarbons by subjecting alkylaromatic hydrocarbons to a disproportionation/transalkylation/dealkylation reaction while suppressing aromatic loss or subjecting C8 aromatic hydrocarbons to an isomerization reaction while suppressing xylene loss.
