Disclosed herein are non-natural amino acids and dolastatin analogs that include at least one non-natural amino acid, and methods for making such non-natural amino acids and polypeptides. The dolastatin analogs can include a wide range of possible functionalities, but typically have at least one oxime, carbonyl, dicarbonyl, and/or hydroxylamine group. Also disclosed herein are non-natural amino acid dolastatin analogs that are further modified post-translationally, methods for effecting such modifications, and methods for purifying such dolastatin analogs. Typically, the modified dolastatin analogs include at least one oxime, carbonyl, dicarbonyl, and/or hydroxylamine group. Further disclosed are methods for using such non-natural amino acid dolastatin analogs and modified non-natural amino acid dolastatin analogs, including therapeutic, diagnostic, and other biotechnology use.
DOLASTATIN 10 ANALOG
Provided herein is a dolastatin 10 analog, useful for preparing conjugates thereof with targeting, diagnostic, imaging and other moieties. Also provided are the conjugates and uses thereof.
PEPTIDES FOR REGULATING GLUCOSE
Novel peptides and their uses are provided. In particular, the peptides are useful for increasing glucose uptake or decreasing hepatic glucose production. The peptides are also useful for regulating glucose levels and/or treating diabetes in a subject.
PEPTIDES AND COMPOSITIONS FOR INHIBITING HAIR GROWTH

Methods for reducing hair growth, improving the appearance of skin, kits, and related cosmetic formulations are also provided herein.
METHODS FOR REDUCING CD36 EXPRESSION
The invention provides a method for treating one or more complications of diabetes in a mammal. The method comprises administering to a mammal in need thereof an effective amount of an aromatic-cationic peptide having at least one net positive charge; a minimum of four amino acids; a maximum of about twenty amino acids; a relationship between the minimum number of net positive charges (p.sub.m) and the total number of amino acid residues (r) wherein 3 p.sub.m is the largest number that is less than or equal to r+1; and a relationship between the minimum number of aromatic groups (a) and the total number of net positive charges (p.sub.t) wherein 2a is the largest number that is less than or equal to p.sub.t+1, except that when a is 1, p.sub.t may also be 1.
LABYRINTHIN-BASED PEPTIDES FOR CANCER IMMUNOTHERAPIES AND USES THEREOF
Antigenic compositions comprising one or more labyrinthin-derived peptides are described herein. In some embodiment, each peptide of the antigenic composition comprises a T-cell epitope and/or a B-cell epitope. In other aspects, the present disclosure provides, e.g., vaccine compositions comprising tin antigenic composition disclosed herein, including kits, medicines, and compositions (such as pharmaceutical compositions and unit dosages) thereof. Also provided are methods of using the compositions disclosed herein, such as methods of treatment thereof and methods of producing antibodies, and antibody compositions thereof, against the one or more labyrinthin-derived peptides or a portion thereof.
Ultrasound-assisted simulated digestion method of milk protein active peptide and application thereof in health foods
An ultrasound-assisted simulated digestion method of a milk protein active peptide and an application thereof in health foods, pertaining to the technical field of intensive processing of dairy products and preparation of health foods. The method firstly employs ultrasonic pretreatment of casein and β-lactoglobulin, followed by enzymatic hydrolysis with a protease to prepare casein and ρ-lactoglobulin polypeptide, and traces the activity of the polypeptide by simulating gastrointestinal digestion, and then simulates absorption by intestinal epithelial cells with Caco-2 cells, to characterize a highly active milk protein polypeptide digested by the gastrointestinal tract and absorbed by the Caco-2 cells simulating absorption by the inner wall of the small intestine. The method has identified five such highly active milk protein polypeptides.
Peptides having tetrahedral mimicking groups as inhibitors of rhomboid proteases
The present invention describes rhomboid protease inhibitors having high specificity and inhibition characteristics providing novel antibiotics, anti-malarial pharmaceutical agents, and provides a strategy for designing RiBns (rhomboid-inhibiting boronates) to target rhomboid selectively in unrelated organisms.
