NATURAL ORIGIN STABILIZER FOR OIL IN WATER EMULSIONS

The present invention relates to the use of a methacrylate or acrylate modified polysaccharide; or a single-chain polysaccharide methacrylate or acrylate-based nanoparticle, having a surface tension measured by Du Noüy Ring method equal to or lower than 63 mN/m, as oil-in-water emulsion stabilizer; and an oil-in-water emulsion stabilizer composition, and an oil-in-water emulsion containing them. It also relates to processes for their preparation, and their uses.

Polysaccharide compositions and particulate materials coated therewith

Loose particulate materials can be problematic in various aspects. For example, loose particulate materials may generate dust or be difficult to consolidate together. Fines in loose particulate materials may also be an issue. Coated particulates may alleviate some of the foregoing issues. Suitable coated particulates may comprise a particulate material comprising sand or a ceramic, and a polysaccharide composition coated upon the particulate material, the polysaccharide composition comprising a functionalized polysaccharide. Other particulate materials such as wood chips and animal litter particulates may be coated with functionalized polysaccharides to achieve similar advantages.

HAIR OIL FORMULATION

A hair care formulation is provided, comprising: a dermatologically acceptable vehicle; a dermatologically acceptable oil; and a deposition aid polymer, wherein the deposition aid polymer is a dextran polymer functionalized with an amine group; wherein the dextran polymer has a weight average molecular weight of 100,000 to 650,000 Daltons; and wherein the deposition aid polymer enhances deposition of the dermatologically acceptable oil from the hair care formulation onto mammalian hair.

Biocompatible in situ hydrogel

The present invention provides compositions, and related kits and methods, for formation of hydrogels. The compositions comprise one or more chemically crosslinkable agents dissolved in an aqueous solution to form a precursor solution. The chemically crosslinkable agents useful in the present invention are selected from polymers modified with a molecule selected from acrylate, maleimide, vinylsulfone, N-hydroxysuccinimide, aldehyde, ketone, carbodiimide, carbonate, iodoacetyl, mercaptonicotinamide, quinone, thiol, amine, and combinations thereof. The precursor solution is characterized as being in an aqueous form at a non-physiologic physical-chemical condition and undergoing gelation when in contact with another fluid or body at a physiologic physical-chemical condition.
