USE OF DISPERSION ADHESIVES FOR FOAM BONDING

The invention relates to the use of an aqueous dispersion containing at least one polyurethane-polyurea polymer formed from (a) at least one difunctional polyester polyol having a number-average molecular weight of 400 to 5000 g/mol, (b) at least one difunctional polyol component having a number-average molecular weight of 762 to 399 g/mol, c) at least one diisocyanate and (d) at least one chain extender optionally having at least one ionic group, for the bonding of at least two substrates by application of the aqueous dispersion to at least one of the substrates to be bonded, subsequent drying of the dispersion present on the at least one substrate in order to obtain at least one adhesive layer, and contacting of the at least one adhesive layer with a further substrate or with an adhesive layer present on a further substrate at a pressure of from 0.1 to 5 bar(a) and a temperature of less than 40° C., wherein the polyurethane-polyurea polymer after the drying has a glass transition temperature Tg of from −65 to 10° C. and a melting point of from 40 to 80° C., to a corresponding process for joining at least two substrates, and to an adhesive composite obtained in this way and comprising at least two substrates and an adhesive layer present between every two substrates.

A phosphonium-containing polyurethane composition can include an aqueous liquid vehicle including water, organic co-solvent, and surfactant, and polyurethane particles including a polyurethane polymer with a polyurethane backbone. The polyurethane polymer can have pendant side chain groups along the polyurethane backbone as well as end cap groups terminating the polyurethane polymer. The pendant side chain groups and the end cap groups can collectively include aliphatic phosphonium salts and polyalkylene oxides.

The use of an aqueous polyurethane dispersion adhesive is described for producing composite foils which are biodisintegratable at home compost conditions where at least two substrates are adhesive-bonded to one another with use of the polyurethane dispersion adhesive, where at least one of the substrates is a polymer foil which is biodisintegratable at home compost conditions. At least 60% by weight of the polyurethane is composed of diisocyanates, polyesterdiols, and at least one bifunctional carboxylic acid selected from dihydroxy carboxylic acids and diamino carboxylic acids, wherein the polyurethane has no melting point above 20° C. or wherein the polyurethane has a melting point above 20° C. with an enthalpy of fusion lower than 10 J/g, and wherein a film of the polyurethane adhesive is biodegradable at home compost conditions.

The present invention relates to an acid-resistant and alkali-resistant composition, a preparation process thereof and use thereof in producing an article, and an article comprising a substrate coated or impregnated with the same and the preparation method and use of the article. The composition contains: at least one aqueous polyurethane dispersion having a carboxyl group; at least one crosslinking agent having an isocyanate reactive group; at least one crosslinking agent having a carboxyl reactive group; and optionally an additive; wherein, the amount of the carboxyl groups in said aqueous polyurethane dispersion is more than 0.05 wt %, based on the amount of said aqueous polyurethane dispersion being 100 wt %; the amount of said crosslinking agent having an isocyanate reactive group is 0.2 wt %-10 wt %, based on the amount of said composition being 100 wt %; the molar ratio of the carboxyl reactive groups to the carboxyl groups of said composition is more than 0.5. The film formed with the composition of the present invention has good acid-resistance and alkali-resistance. The product obtained by treating with the composition of the present invention has flat appearance and good handfed.

The invention relates to an aqueous dispersion containing a mixture of linear fluorinated and non-fluorinated polyurethane acrylates, obtainable by: a) reacting polyisocyanate A′, multi-unsaturated OH-functional compound B′, acid-functional polyol C′ under urethane formation reaction conditions in the presence of intermediate X, wherein intermediate X is an OH-functional (per)fluoropolyether (PFPE) derivative, and b) adding neutralizer D to the reaction product of step a) and dispersing it in water. The dispersion can be used in preparation of a coating with easy-clean, anti-stain and anti-scratch properties, which can advantageously be used for coating substrates in consumer electronics or automotive applications.
