IMPACT RESISTANT GARMENT
An impact resistant textile-supported garment, or component thereof, comprises a fabric layer, and (i) at least five non-interconnected impact resistant polyurethane segments upon an outer surface of the fabric layer, wherein at least two of the non-interconnected impact resistant polyurethane segments has a depth of at least 3 mm, preferably at least 4 mm, and wherein at least five of the plurality of non-interconnected segments have dimensions smaller than 1.75 cm × 1 cm × 1 cm; or (ii) at least one non-interconnected impact resistant polyurethane segment, wherein the at least one segment has a depth of at least 3 mm at its deepest part, and wherein the at least one segment is a hollow segment comprising one or more regions defined by an outer polyurethane perimeter, surrounding a region of fabric that is not covered by polyurethane.
Dual cure resins for additive manufacturing
Provided herein is a resin product useful for the production of three-dimensional objects by additive manufacturing, and methods using the same. The resin may include a reactive blocked prepolymer comprising a prepolymer blocked with reactive blocking groups; a polyol; a photoinitiator; and at least one organometallic catalyst. A packaged product useful for the production of three-dimensional objects by additive manufacturing, the product comprising a single container having a single chamber and a resin in the chamber with all components mixed together, is also provided.
SOLVENT FOR AROMATIC CARBOXYLIC OR SULFONIC ACIDS
A method for preparing an acid solution by contacting at least one aromatic carboxylic or sulfonic acid with at least one polyether having blocked hydroxyl groups as a solvent. The polyether having blocked hydroxyl groups is not volatile and exhibits a surprisingly high dissolving capacity for the aromatic carboxylic or sulfonic acid. The acid solution is very compatible in curable compositions and does not cause any emission or odor or migration effects. The acid solution is particularly suitable as a constituent of polyurethane compositions having latent curing agents for accelerating the hydrolysis of the latent reactive groups.
THERMOPLASTIC POLY(URETHANE-UREA) POLYADDUCTS
A thermoplastic poly(urethane-urea) polyadduct with sterically hindered urea groups of the following Formula (I):
—[I-M-(I—C.sub.1).sub.a—(I-M).sub.b-(I—C.sub.2).sub.c].sub.n- (I)
I, M, C.sub.1 and C.sub.2 each representing bivalent residues linked to each other via a urethane or urea moiety. In the residues I, C.sub.1 and C.sub.2, when more than four carbon atoms are present, optionally at least one of them is substituted by a heteroatom selected from oxygen and nitrogen. Optionally at least one of the residues I, M, C.sub.1 and C.sub.2 includes one or more ester moieties. a, b and c each independently represent an integer from 0 to 10, and n is a number ≥3 representing the number of blocks in the polyadduct. Within each separate block a+c≥1, and in all blocks together at least one a≥1 and at least one c≥1.

Solvent-Borne Polyurethane Adhesives with High Molecular Weight, High OH Content and Low Solution Viscosity
An adhesive composition includes a polyurethane polymer, a solvent and a co-solvent. The polyurethane polymer is an internally and/or externally hydrophilized thermoplastic polyurethane having an Mw of 50000 g/mol. The solvent is a polar-aprotic solvent. The co-solvent is selected from water, a primary alcohol having 10 carbon atoms, a vicinal diol or a mixture of at least two of the aforementioned compounds. The solvent and the co-solvent are present in such amounts that they form a homogenous mixture without the formation of a second phase when combined together at 20 C. The hydroxyl group content is 1 weight-%, based on the total weight of the composition. The polyurethane polymer content is 10 weight-%, based on the total weight of the composition and the composition forms a single continuous liquid phase. Examples for solvent/co-solvent combinations are methylethyl ketone (MEK) and water or MEK and ethanol.
RELEASE AGENT FOR REACTIVE HOT MELT RESIN
The present invention provides a release agent for a reactive hot melt resin, wherein a dispersion term (D) in the Hansen solubility parameters falls within the range of 14.0 to 21.0 MPa.sup.0.5, a dipole interaction force term (P) falls within the range of 0 to 10.5 MPa.sup.0.5, and a hydrogen bond term (H) falls within the range of 0 to 13.5 MPa.sup.0.5. Preferably, the adhesive for a reactive hot melt resin is at least one type of solvent selected from a group consisting of benzoic acid esters, tetrahydrofurfuryl alcohol, and tetrahydrofurfuryl (meth)acrylate. The reactive hot melt resin preferably contains an urethane prepolymer having an isocyanate group, and the urethane bond content in the urethane prepolymer is preferably within the range of 0.1 to 3 mol/kg.
