A polyurethane resin composition includes a reaction product of an aliphatic polyisocyanate derivative having an average number of isocyanate groups of 2 or more; a long-chain active hydrogen compound including a hydrocarbon group having 12 or more and 30 or less carbon atoms and an active hydrogen group in combination; a cationic active hydrogen compound including an active hydrogen group and a cationic group in combination; and an acid compound capable of a salt with the cationic group. The concentration of the hydrocarbon group is 30% or more and 85% or less.

The invention relates to a method for producing a cured composition which has at least one oxazolidinone ring and at least one isocyanurate ring and is cross-linked by the same, starting from a liquid reactive mixture which, based on the total weight thereof, contains at least one epoxy resin, at least one polyisocyanate, at least one polyol, and at least one catalyst composition. The invention further relates to the cured composition obtainable thereby.

Method of making a grease thickener and the thickener made by the method

A continuous process for producing a polyurea concentrate or powder. The process includes combing at least one amine and an isocayante in the presence of a liquid diluent or a base oil in a rotor stator mixer. The concentrate comprises a polyurea in a base oil wherein the concentration of from about 20 weight percent to about 50, or 40 or 35 or 30 weight percent of polyurea based on total weight of grease thickener. The powder has particle size of 2 to 400 microns. This concentrate or powder can then be formulated by grease manufacturers to the desired final properties without the need for handling of the isocyanate and amine raw materials.

A polyisocyanurate and/or polyurethane (PIR/PUR) comprising material having improved Flame, Smoke and/or Toxicity (FST) retardancy is disclosed and a method for forming said PIR/PUR comprising material. The PIR/PUR material is comprising at least 0.2 wt % of compounds having a number average equivalent weight <160 g/mol and at least one non-polymerized ethylenically unsaturated moiety based on the total weight of the PIR/PUR comprising material, and optionally 0.01 wt % up to 1 wt % of one or more radical initiator compounds based on the total weight of the PIR/PUR comprising material.

The invention relates to a process for producing a composite polyisocyanurate material, comprising the following steps: a) providing a polyisocyanate composition A) which comprises oligomeric polyisocyanates and is low in monomeric diisocyanates, “low in monomeric diisocyanates” meaning that the polyisocyanate composition A) has a content of monomeric diisocyanates of not more than 20% by weight, and b) catalytically trimerizing the polyisocyanate composition A) in the presence of at least one fibrous filler B) and of a trimerization catalyst C) to give the composite polyisocyanurate material, where the trimerization catalyst C) comprises at least one metal salt and/or quaternary ammonium salt. The invention further relates to composite polyisocyanurate materials obtainable by the process according to the invention and to the use thereof for production of a component, and to components consisting of or comprising a composite polyisocyanurate material according to the invention.

COMPATIBILIZER AND POLYESTER RESIN COMPOSITION

There is provided a compatibilizer for polyester resin which can produce better compatibility than conventional counterparts, and a polyester resin composition using the compatibilizer. The compatibilizer comprises a polycarbodiimide compound represented by the formula (1) describe below wherein the carbodiimide equivalent of the polycarbodiimide compound is 280 or higher; and in the formula (1), R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are residues formed by eliminating a functional group from an organic compound having the one functional group reactive with an isocyanate group; R.sup.3 is a divalent residue formed by eliminating two isocyanate groups from a diisocyanate compound; R.sup.4 is a divalent residue formed by eliminating two hydroxyl groups from a diol compound; X.sup.1 and X.sup.2 are bonds formed by reaction of the functional group of the organic compound with one of the two isocyanate groups of the diisocyanate compound; and m and n=1 to 20, m+n≤25, and p=0 to 39, provided that the number of carbodiimide groups in one molecule is 2 to 40.
