CROSSLINKING AGENT COMPOSITION FOR WATER-COMPATIBLE RESIN, AND WATER-COMPATIBLE RESIN COMPOSITION
A crosslinking agent composition for water-compatible resins which comprises a hydrophobic crosslinking agent, a water-soluble organic compound, one or more oily media selected from among hydrocarbon-based solvents and ketone-based solvents having a solubility parameter of 9.0 (cal/cm.sup.−3).sup.1/2 or less, and an aqueous medium. The crosslinking agent composition can improve the storage stability of a water-compatible resin composition. The water-compatible resin composition which contains this crosslinking agent composition can give cured objects satisfactory in terms of water resistance and solvent resistance and is suitable also for use in wet-on-wet coating.

A method for producing a composition comprising polycarbodiimide, comprising the step of the reaction of a reaction mixture which contains an aromatic polyisocyanate and a carbodiimidising catalyst, wherein, before the reaction, the aromatic polyisocyanate is treated at a temperature of ≧80° C. to ≦150° C. and a pressure of ≧1 mbar to ≦500 mbar by passing through an inert gas and/or during the reaction, the reaction mixture is treated at a temperature of ≧80° C. to ≦150° C. and a pressure of ≧1 mbar to ≦500 mbar by passing through an inert gas and wherein the content of hydrolysable chlorine in the reaction mixture is ≦10 ppm.
Methods for making recyclable and depolymerizable polymer network materials via thiourethane dynamic chemistry
Polythiourethane polymer networks that can be processed and/or recycled are provided. Also provided are methods of forming the polythiourethane polymer networks using excess thiol and/or a dual catalyst system and methods for reprocessing and recycling the polyurethane polymer networks. The polythiourethane polymer networks are based on thiourethane dynamic chemistry.
Polyisocyanurate based polymers and fiber reinforced composites
A method of making an isocyanurate polymer is disclosed. An isocyanate including at least one of an aromatic isocyanate and an aliphatic isocyanate is provided. A trimerization catalyst including at least one of an amine catalyst, an organometallic compound, and an imidazole compound is provided. A reaction mixture that is substantially free of reactive hydrogen is formed by mixing less than about twenty percent by total weight of said reaction mixture of an epoxide with said isocyanate. The trimerization catalyst is mixed with the reaction mixture. The reaction mixture is cured to produce a polymer composition including a reaction product of two or more isocyanates.

A process for producing a thermoplastic polyoxazolidinone comprising copolymerizing a diisocyanate compound (A) with a bisepoxide compound (B) in the presence of a specific a quaternary ammonium, quaternary phoshonium and/or quaternary stibonium-based catalyst (C), a compound (D), a compound (F) wherein compound (D) and compound (F) independently comprises at least one of a monofunctional isocyanate, a monofunctional epoxide, a cyclic carbonate, a monofunctional alcohol, a monofunctional amine optionally in a solvent (E), and wherein the catalyst (C) is added in at least two portions (C-1) and (C-2). The invention is also related to the resulting thermoplastic polyoxazolidinone.
ADHESIVE AGENT, LAMINATE, METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING LAMINATE, AND PACKAGING MATERIAL
Provided are a two-component curable adhesive which can be aged at room temperature and has favorable adhesiveness to various base materials, a laminate in which the adhesiveness between a base material and an adhesive is excellent even when aged at room temperature, and a packaging material including the laminate. The two-component curable adhesive includes a polyisocyanate composition (X) including a polyisocyanate compound (A) and a polyol composition (Y) including a polyol (B), in which a viscosity of the polyol composition at 50° C. is 20 mPa.Math.s or more and 180 mPa.Math.s or less.
MANUFACTURE OF FIBER REINFORCED COMPOSITE MATERIALS WITH ISOCYANATE RESIN
A method of producing a reinforced polymer composite includes placing reinforcement solids a die defining a die cavity. A liquid reaction mixture including an aromatic polyisocyanate and initiating reaction of said aromatic polyisocyanate is infused with a catalyst composition forming an aromatic isocyanurate based polymer reaction mixture impregnates the reinforcing solids with using the cavity for forming the aromatic isocyanurate based polymer reaction mixture. The cavity defined by the die is heated to at least 80° C. for a period required to form a polymer reaction product producing the reinforced polymer composite.
COMPATIBILIZER AND POLYESTER RESIN COMPOSITION
There is provided a compatibilizer for polyester resin which can produce better compatibility than conventional counterparts, and a polyester resin composition using the compatibilizer. The compatibilizer comprises a polycarbodiimide compound represented by the formula (1) describe below wherein the carbodiimide equivalent of the polycarbodiimide compound is 280 or higher; and in the formula (1), R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are residues formed by eliminating a functional group from an organic compound having the one functional group reactive with an isocyanate group; R.sup.3 is a divalent residue formed by eliminating two isocyanate groups from a diisocyanate compound; R.sup.4 is a divalent residue formed by eliminating two hydroxyl groups from a diol compound; X.sup.1 and X.sup.2 are bonds formed by reaction of the functional group of the organic compound with one of the two isocyanate groups of the diisocyanate compound; and m and n=1 to 20, m+n≤25, and p=0 to 39, provided that the number of carbodiimide groups in one molecule is 2 to 40.

METHOD FOR FORMING FIBER-REINFORCED COMPOSITE MATERIAL AND EPOXY RESIN COMPOSITION FOR USE THEREIN
The present invention aims to provide an epoxy resin composition for a fiber-reinforced composite material that maintains low viscosity during injection into reinforcing fibers to realize good impregnating and also has high toughness and high heat resistance and also aims to provide a fiber-reinforced composite material produced therefrom. Also provided is a molding method for a fiber-reinforced composite material including at least a reinforcing fiber [A] and a cured product of an epoxy resin composition [B], wherein the epoxy resin composition [B] includes the components [a], [b], and [c] specified below, and the epoxy resin composition [B] is cured in such a manner that the absorbance ratio Da/(Da+Db) is in the range of 0.4 to 1 in producing the fiber-reinforced composite material: [a] an epoxy resin having at least two oxirane groups in the molecule, [b] an epoxy resin curing agent having at least two isocyanate groups in the molecule, and [c] a catalyst.
