The present disclosure relates to sealed isocyanate resin compositions. The resin compositions may be used for additive manufacturing. One embodiment of the invention includes a photopolymerizable resin for additive manufacturing, the resin comprising: a blocked isocyanate; at least one monomer or oligomer; and a multifunctional nucleophile.

1,3-BISISOCYANATOMETHYLCYCLOHEXANE COMPOSITION AND OPTICAL RESIN PREPARED THEREFROM

Disclosed is a 1,3-bisisocyanatomethylcyclohexane composition and an optical resin prepared therefrom. The composition comprises, based on the weight of 1,3-bisisocyanatomethylcyclohexane, a) 65%-95 wt % of trans-1,3-bisisocyanatomethylcyclohexane; b) greater than 0 and less than or equal to 0.5 wt %, preferably 0.02-0.5 wt % of 1,4-bisisocyanatomethylcyclohexane. Preferably, the 1,3-bisisocyanatomethylcyclohexane composition contains greater than 0 and less than or equal to 600 ppm of 1-isocyanatomethyl-3-methylcyclohexane, based on the weight of 1,3-bisisocyanatomethylcyclohexane. The 1,3-bisisocyanatomethylcyclohexane composition is used for preparing an optical resin, which can be applied to produce an optical lens with a better performance in preventing opacification and optical distortion.

Embodiments relate to a polythiourethane-based plastic lens. When a polythiourethane-based plastic lens is polymerized according to the embodiment, the types, contents, and the like of the polythiol compounds and the isocyanate compounds are adjusted to control the storage moduli at room temperature and high temperatures, their variations, the energy attenuation (KEL) obtained therefrom, and the glass transition temperature, whereby the polythiourethane-based plastic lens thus obtained is enhanced in impact resistance and thermal resistance.

Also described and claimed are various compositions containing such oligomers as part of a self-healing component, wherein such compositions also include an optional reactive monomer and/or oligomer component and a photoinitiator component. Yet further described and claimed are articles cured from the compositions elsewhere described using the oligomers elsewhere described.

There is provided an erosion protective polyurethane elastomer produced from a polyurethane composition with a polyisocyanate component and an isocyanate-reactive component. The polyisocyanate component has a first isocyanate-terminated prepolymer obtained from the reaction of a first polyol with 1,4-bis(isocyanatomethyl cyclohexane) (1,4-H6XDI) or with a mixture of 1,4-H6XDI and a second aliphatic diisocyanate, an aromatic diisocyanate, and/or an arylalkyl diisocyanate, with at least 50 wt. % of diisocyanate used to produce the prepolymer is aliphatic diisocyanate. The isocyanate-reactive component has at least two low molecular weight (Mw<400 g/mol) diols and a second polyol with hydroxyl groups to react with the prepolymer to produce a polyurethane elastomer. The polyurethane composition having a molar ratio of NCO/OH in the range of 1.00-1.50; whereby said polyurethane composition is curable to produce an elastomer having a mechanical strength >20 MPa, an elongation at break >500%, a tensile set <30%, and hydrolytic stability.

There is provided an erosion protective polyurethane elastomer produced from a polyurethane composition with a polyisocyanate component and an isocyanate-reactive component. The polyisocyanate component has a first isocyanate-terminated prepolymer obtained from the reaction of a first polyol with 1,4-bis(isocyanatomethyl cyclohexane) (1,4-H6XDI) or with a mixture of 1,4-H6XDI and a second aliphatic diisocyanate, an aromatic diisocyanate, and/or an arylalkyl diisocyanate, with at least 50 wt. % of diisocyanate used to produce the prepolymer is aliphatic diisocyanate. The isocyanate-reactive component has at least two low molecular weight (Mw<400 g/mol) diols and a second polyol with hydroxyl groups to react with the prepolymer to produce a polyurethane elastomer. The polyurethane composition having a molar ratio of NCO/OH in the range of 1.00-1.50; whereby said polyurethane composition is curable to produce an elastomer having a mechanical strength >20 MPa, an elongation at break >500%, a tensile set <30%, and hydrolytic stability.
