Aqueous polyurethane resin dispersion
11708505 · 2023-07-25 · ·

An aqueous polyurethane resin having a cationic group in a side chain thereof is obtainable by reacting a polyester polyol, a polyisocyanate, and a diol containing a quaternary N-atom or amino group, the quaternary N-atom or amino group being not present in the carbon chain between the two hydroxyl groups of the diol. The polyester polyol is obtained by reacting an aromatic polycarboxylic acid and a polyol. The polyurethane resin is suitable as a resin in treatment liquids for inkjet printing.

Hydrocarbon blown polyurethane foam formulation giving desirable thermal insulation properties

Polyurethane/polyisocyanurate foam insulation described herein is derived from a composition that contains an organic polyisocyanate, an isocyanate reactive material containing at least about 20% by weight, based on the total weight of the composition, of an aromatic polyester polyol, a hydrocarbon blowing agent, a first catalyst selected from the group consisting of a carboxylate salt of an alkali metal, a carboxylate salt of an alkaline earth metal, a carboxylate salt of a quaternary ammonium, and combinations thereof, and a second catalyst comprising a non-reactive tertiary amine, wherein a molar ratio of the first catalyst to the second catalyst is less than about 1.25, the composition gels quickly, and the composition has an isocyanate index greater than about 175. Such an insulating foam has a ratio of thermal conductivity at 75° F. to thermal conductivity at 25° F. between about 0.98 and about 1.10.

Isocyanate-modified rigid thermoplastic polymer compositions

An aqueous polyurethane resin dispersion includes a cationic group and a polyalkylene oxide in a side chain thereof. The polyurethane resin is obtainable by reacting a polyester polyol, a polyether diol, a polyol containing a quaternary N-atom or tertiary amino group, and a polyisocyanate. The polyester polyol is obtained by reacting an aromatic polycarboxylic acid and a polyol. The polyurethane resin is suitable as a resin in treatment liquids of substrates and images made by inkjet printing.

EXTRUDED POLYURETHANE SURFACE FILMS

Various embodiments disclosed relate to a surfacing film. The surfacing film includes a base layer. The base layer includes a thermoplastic polyurethane film comprising a reaction product of a reaction mixture of a diisocyanate, a polyester polyol having a melting temperature of at least about 30° C.; and a diol chain extender. There are many reasons to use the surfacing film including easier and more cost effective manufacturing of the surfacing film by directly extruding the base layer by mixing the reaction mixture in an extruder. Another reason to use the surfacing film is that the film has improved resistance to discoloration. Another reason to use the film is that the film shows good toughness.
