Flame retardant polyesters obtainable by reacting an aromatic or aliphatic dicarboxylic acid and/or ester of anhydride thereof, with an aliphatic polyol or mixtures thereof and with melamine, are provided. Methods of making said polyesters are also provided.

It is an object of the present invention to provide a resin composition for an adhesive having high gas barrier properties and laminate strength.

A resin composition for a gas barrier adhesive contains a resin (A) having two or more hydroxy groups per molecule and a polyisocyanate (B) having two or more isocyanate groups, in which the polyisocyanate (B) is a mixture of a tri- or higher-valent polyisocyanate compound (b1) having an aromatic ring in its molecule and a polyisocyanate compound (b2) having no aromatic ring in its molecule.

Composition and cured product of same

Provided is a composition capable of forming a cured product having excellent adhesion to a substrate, hardness, scratch resistance, and chemical resistance. The composition of the present disclosure includes a polyol compound (A) and an isocyanate compound (B), the polyol compound (A) containing a compound (a1) having a number average molecular weight calibrated with polystyrene standards of less than 800 and being represented by Formula (1), where R.sup.1 to R.sup.3 are a group represented by Formula (1a); and the isocyanate compound (B) containing a compound (b) represented by Formula (2), where L.sup.1 to L.sup.3 are a hydrogen atom, an NCO group, or an alkyl group having from 1 to 10 carbon atom(s) and having a group represented by Formula (2).
