The present invention relates to a specific uretdione prepolymer, and an aqueous curable composition based on the specific uretdione prepolymer. AQUEOUS URETDIONE GROUP-CONTAINING COMPOSITIONS AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING SAME
The invention relates to aqueous uretdione group-containing compositions comprising or consisting of (A) at least one uretdione group-containing curing agent based on aliphatic, cycloaliphatic, aliphatic and/or aromatic polyisocyanates which do not contain chemically bonded hydrophilating groups; (B) at least one polyacrylate copolymer; (C) optionally solvents; and (D) optionally auxiliary agents and additives; wherein the quantity ratio of the components (A) and (B) is measured such that the molar ratio of the NCO groups of the curing agent (A), said groups being provided in the form of uretdione, to the NCO reactive groups of the polyacrylate copolymer (B) equals 3.0:0.5 to 0.5:3.0, and A and B are provided as a physical mixture. The invention additionally relates to a method for producing a polyurethane layer using the aqueous uretdione group-containing composition according to the invention, to the polyurethane layer obtained therefrom, and to a substrate which is coated with or adhered to the polyurethane layer.
COATING COMPOSITION
The present invention relates to a coating composition and a method for preparing the same, a coating method and use thereof as well as a product coated with the coating composition. The coating composition comprises: A) a hydroxyl-containing component consisting of: a) a polycaprolactone polyol, b) a polyester polyol having a hydroxyl content of not less than 10 wt. % as measured in accordance with DIN EN ISO 4629-2, c) an optional polyacrylate polyol, and d) an optional polycarbonate polyol; and B) a polyisocyanate; wherein the equivalent ratio of isocyanate groups to hydroxyl groups of the composition is 0.5-1.2. A coating formed from the coating composition provided by the present invention has good reflowing, and especially can rapidly reflow at normal temperature.
MOISTURE CURABLE POLYURETHANE HOT MELT ADHESIVE COMPOSITION HAVING LOW LEVELS OF DIISOCYANATE MONOMER
A moisture curable polyurethane hot melt adhesive composition and a process for making the same are disclosed. The moisture curable polyurethane hot melt adhesive composition includes an isocyanate-terminated polyurethane prepolymer that is the reaction product of a diisocyanate monomer component that includes at least 20% by weight asymmetrical diisocyanate monomer based on the weight of the diisocyanate monomer component and symmetrical diisocyanate monomer, at least one polyol having a number average molecular weight greater than 1000 g/mole, a monofunctional compound that includes one isocyanate-reactive group and has a molecular weight no greater than 400 g/mole, and a multifunctional compound that includes at least two isocyanate-reactive groups and has a molecular weight no greater than 400 g/mole.

Provided are an adhesive composition which can give high adhesive force to a wet surface and also ensures storage stability of a moisture-curable component, an adhesive layer made from the adhesive composition, and an adhesive sheet including the adhesive layer. An adhesive composition including a base polymer and a moisture-curable component, wherein the base polymer contains a polymer having a functional group that becomes a functional group capable of reacting with the moisture-curable component through a reaction with water, and the moisture-curable component is contained in an unreacted state.
Thermosetting coating composition for improved corrosion protection of metal substrates
Disclosed is a composition for improving the corrosion resistance of metals coated with 2K coatings. The composition comprises the reaction product of an aromatic sulfonyl isocyanate and an alcohol or polyol monomer. Also disclosed is a method of improving the corrosion resistance of metals coated with 2K coatings by the addition of a sulfonyl urethane-alcohol composition reaction product of an aromatic sulfonyl isocyanate and a mono-alcohol or poly-alcohol.
Curing for polyallophanate compositions through undercoat acid neutralization
The present invention provides a system comprising an allophanate composition comprising a neutralized polyol, a polyuretdione resin, a tertiary amine catalyst, an additive package, and a reducer and a neutralized basecoat comprising an acid scavenger and a pigment. The resulting allophanate system may be used to make coatings, adhesives, castings, composites, and sealants in which clear-coating on neutralized pigmented basecoats is much improved in comparison to non-neutralized basecoats.
Extended pot-life for low temperature curing polyuretdione resins
The present invention provides a reaction mixture comprising a polyuretdione resin, a neutralized polyol, an acid-blocked tertiary amine catalyst, and optionally, an additive package selected from the group consisting of flow control additives, and wetting agents, and solvents, wherein the acid has a pK.sub.a of greater than 4.82. Compositions made from the reaction mixture of the present invention may be catalyzed at temperatures from room temperature to 130 C. and are particularly applicable in or as coatings, adhesives, castings, composites, and sealants with good performance and extended pot-life.
WATER-EMULSIFIABLE ISOCYANATES WITH IMPROVED PROPERTIES
A mixture of water-emulsifiable isocyanates is described. The mixture contains (A) at least one polyisocyanate (a), (B) at least one emulsifier obtained by reacting at least one polyisocyanate with at least one polyether alcohol having a molecular weight of less than 400 g/mol, (C) at least one emulsifier obtained by reacting at least one polyisocyanate with at least one polyether alcohol having a molecular weight of greater than 450 g/mol, and (D) optionally at least one emulsifier obtained by reacting a polyisocyanate with at least one compound (d) having at least one hydrophilic, non-isocyanate-reactive group and precisely one isocyanate-reactive group (group D2). The weight ratio of component (B) to component (C) in the mixture is from 30:70 to 70:30, preferably from 40:60 to 60:40.
