It further relates to a process for producing the polymer, to a composition comprising the polymer and an active ingredient, and to a method for controlling phytopathogenic fungi or undesired vegetation or insect or acarid infestations or for regulating the growth of plants.
POLYMER COMPOSITION FOR THIN COATINGS
The present application relates to a resin or polymer system suitable for two-component compositions, and a resin or polymer system configured for durable coatings with only thin coating weights. The resins and polymer systems of this invention provide high performance extremely thin, low gloss coatings with excellent adhesion, abrasion, scratch and chemical resistance The resins include a polyester component with one or more polyester polyols having a hydroxyl value of about 50 to about 300 and a polyurea component with one or more polyester polyol grafted polyurea polymers having a hydroxyl value of about 20 to about 100. These resin or polymer systems and two-component solvent borne coating compositions including such resin or polymer systems are surprisingly capable of achieving strong adhesion, excellent linear abrasion, and high chemical resistance all at the same time in a dry film thickness of about 2 mil or less, in some instances, about 1.2 mils or less, and in other instances, even about 1 mil or less.
POLYURETHANE FOAM MATERIALS HAVING REDUCED COLD-FLOW EFFECT AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING SAME
The invention relates to a method for producing soft polyurethane foam obtained by reacting a composition containing a component A1 containing at least one filled polyol, a component A2 containing compounds reactive with isocyanates and having a hydroxyl value of ≥20 to <100 mg KOH/g, the component A2 not containing any filled polyol, a component A3 containing water and/or at least one physical blowing agent, a component A4 containing auxiliary agents and additives, and a component B containing di- and/or polyisocyanates, characterized in that the reaction occurs in the presence of 0.5 to 3 parts by weight of an organic urea derivative as component C, which is obtained by reacting urea with a difunctional amine having a number-average molecular weight of 200 to 1000 g/mol. The invention also relates to a soft polyurethane foam obtainable by the method.
Antimicrobial Thermoplastic Polyuethanes
The disclosed technology provides thermoplastic polyurethane compositions having non-leaching antimicrobial properties while still maintaining good physical properties, methods of making the same, and articles, including medical devices, made from such compositions. The disclosed technology includes a process of making an antimicrobial polymer composition, where the process includes mixing an antimicrobial additive into a polymeric material; wherein said polymeric material comprises a polymeric backbone made up of urethane linkages derived from a polyisocyanate and a polyol; and wherein said mixing occurs under conditions that result in the breaking of a minority of said urethane bonds resulting in reactive isocyanate groups; and wherein two or more of said reactive isocyanate groups react with said antimicrobial additive to covalently bond said antimicrobial additive into the polymeric backbone of said polymeric material; resulting in an antimicrobial polymer composition.
