COMPOSITION FOR PREPARING A RELEASE COATING

A composition for forming a release coating is disclosed. The composition comprises (A) an organopolysiloxane comprising the reaction product of: (i) a silicone resin having a particular formula; and (ii) a cyclic siloxane; in the presence of a polymerization catalyst. The composition further comprises (B) an organopolysiloxane including an average of at least two silicon-bonded ethylenically unsaturated groups per molecule.

CURABLE ORGANOSILICON RESIN COMPOSITION

A curable organosilicon resin composition includes; (A) an organopolysiloxane having a resin structure containing 10 to 60 mol % of an R.sup.1SiO.sub.3/2 unit, 30 to 80 mol % of an (R.sup.2).sub.2SiO.sub.2/2 unit, and 1 to 30 mol % of an (R.sup.3).sub.3SiO.sub.1/2 unit. At least a part of the (R.sup.2).sub.2SiO.sub.2/2 unit is in continuous repeating units with the average number of the repeating units being 3 to 80. The organopolysiloxane has a weight average molecular weight of 5,000 to 50,000; the amount of the hydroxy groups bonded to silicon atoms is 0.001 to 1.0 mol/100 g; and the amount of the alkoxy groups, each having 1 to 10 carbon atoms, bonded to silicon atoms is 1.0 mol/100 g or less. A curable organosilicon resin composition has excellent workability, can give a cured product rapidly, and can make the cured product excellent in mechanical properties, heat resistance, crack resistance, and adhesive property, the surface tackiness being suppressed.

In a heat-shielding film formed of addition-curing silicone resin containing organopolysiloxane, organopolysiloxane includes the combination of a plurality of units including at least a R.sup.1SiO.sub.3/2 unit (a T unit), a R.sup.2R.sup.3SiO.sub.2/2 unit (a D unit), and a R.sup.4R.sup.5R.sup.6SiO.sub.1/2 unit (a M unit) (in each unit, R.sup.1 to R.sup.6 is aliphatic hydrocarbon or hydrogen), and the molar ratio of the T unit, the D unit, and the M unit among all structural units is T:33.3 mol % to 71.4 mol %, D:11.1 mol % to 42.9 mol %, and M:7.0 mol % to 42.9 mol %.

Curable silicone composition and cured product thereof

A curable silicone composition is disclosed herein. The curable silicone composition comprises: (A) an alkenyl group-containing organopolysiloxane comprising (A.sub.1) a linear organopolysiloxane having at least two alkenyl groups per molecule, and (A.sub.2) a resinous organopolysiloxane; (B) a silicon atom-bonded hydrogen atom-containing organopolysiloxane comprising (B.sub.1) a resinous organopolysiloxane, (B.sub.2) a linear or partially branched organopolysiloxane having at least two silicon atom-bonded hydrogen atoms per molecule, and having not less than 0.5 mass % of silicon atom-bonded hydrogen atoms, and (B.sub.3) a linear organopolysiloxane having at least two silicon atom-bonded hydrogen atoms per molecule, and having less than 0.5 mass % of silicon atom-bonded hydrogen atoms; and (C) a hydrosilylation reaction catalyst. The curable silicone composition can be cured to form a cured product generally exhibiting good elongation and tensile strength.

Reactive poly(fluoroalkyl-functional siloxane) oligomers, process for forming the same, and compositions using the same

Reactive poly(fluoroalkyl-functional siloxane) oligomers, method of making the same, and compositions comprising the same are shown and described herein. The reactive poly(fluoroalkyl-functional siloxane) oligomers are is derived from a hydrolysable fluoroalkyl-functional silanes. Coating compositions comprising reactive poly(fluoroalkyl-functional siloxane) oligomer(s) may be used to form a coating or a film on a substrate and impart hydrophobic and/or oleophobic properties. The reactive poly(fluoroalkyl-functional siloxane) oligomer are more hydrophobic and oleophobic and show better chemical resistance than the hydrolysable fluoroalkyl-functional silane.

Polyorganosiloxane having poly(meth)acrylate groups and methods for the preparation and use thereof

A polydiorganosiloxane having both a silicon bonded aliphatically unsaturated group and a silicon bonded poly(meth)acrylate polymer or copolymer, and method for preparation of this polydiorganosiloxane are disclosed. The method preserves the aliphatically unsaturated groups when grafting the poly(meth)acrylate to the polydiorganosiloxane. This polydiorganosiloxane is useful in hydrosilylation reaction curable compositions, such as pressure sensitive adhesive compositions.
