Provided herein are compositions comprising concentrated dispersions of silver nanoparticles. Also provided herein are methods of preparing concentrated dispersions of silver nanoparticles.
Method for preparing porous scaffold for tissue engineering, cell culture and cell delivery
The present invention relates to a method for preparing a porous scaffold for tissue engineering. It is another object of the present invention to provide a porous scaffold obtainable by the method as above described, and its use for tissue engineering, cell culture and cell delivery. The method of the invention comprises the steps consisting of: a) preparing an alkaline aqueous solution comprising an amount of at least one polysaccharide, an amount of a cross-linking agent and an amount of a porogen agent b) transforming the solution into a hydrogel by placing said solution at a temperature from about 4° C. to about 80° C. for a sufficient time to allow the cross-linking of said amount of polysaccharide and c) submerging said hydrogel into an aqueous solution d) washing the porous scaffold obtained at step c).
Polysaccharide-elastomer masterbatch compositions
Disclosed herein are polysaccharide-elastomer masterbatch compositions and processes for preparing the masterbatch compositions. One method comprises a step of a) mixing i) an aqueous polysaccharide dispersion, or ii) a basic aqueous polysaccharide solution, with a rubber latex solution containing a rubber component to form a mixture. The method further comprises the steps of: b) coagulating the mixture obtained in step a) to produce a coagulated mass; and c) drying the coagulated mass obtained in step b). The masterbatch compositions are useful in preparing rubber-containing articles.
Water-based gel-consolidation type lost circulation material system suitable for fractured lost circulation formation, preparation method and use thereof
The present discloses a water-based gel-consolidation type lost circulation material system suitable for fractured lost circulation formation, preparation method and use thereof.
PREPARATION METHOD, PRODUCT AND APPLICATION OF NON-FREE RADICAL PHOTO-CROSSLINKED HYDROGEL MATERIAL
A method for preparing non-free radical photo-crosslinked hydrogels includes: dissolving component A that is a polymer derivative modified with o-nitrobenzyl phototrigger in a biocompatible medium to obtain solution A; dissolving component B that is a polymer derivative containing hydrazide, hydroxylamine or primary amine in a biocompatible medium to obtain solution B; mixing solution A and solution B to obtain a precursor solution of hydrogel; under light irradiation, crosslinking aldehyde generated from the o-nitrobenzyl with the hydrazine, hydroxylamine or primary amine to obtain a hydrogel by forming hydrazone, oxime or schiff base, respectively. A kit for preparation and application of the hydrogel in tissue repair, beauty therapy, and cells, proteins or drugs carriers is also described. The method or kit can achieve in situ photo-gelling on tissue surface or in situ forming thin gel on wounds in clinical treatment of wounds.
Large Pore Agarose
The present invention relates to porous cross-linked agarose gel beads which have a low agarose content, a method for the preparation of the beads and their use in chromatographic applications. The beads are suitable for the separation/purification of biomolecules from a biological sample. Due to the high porosity of the beads, they are especially suitable for separation/isolation of larger particles, such as virus particles e.g. adeno virus.
Recovery of mining processing product using boronic acid-containing polymers
Methods and compositions for improving performance of flocculants in an industrial production process. Methods include pH triggered cross-linking reaction between a flocculating agent, such as dextran, and a composition comprising a boronic acid-containing polymer. The pH trigger can be provided by a fluid having a pH of 8 or more. The production process can be a Bayer Process and the fluid is caustic liquor or slurry in the fluid circuit of the Bayer, wherein the reaction time is reduced over conventional methods and the cross-linked dextran composition effectuates improved flocculation of the trihydrate particles.
AMINOCARBOXYLIC ACID-FUNCTIONALIZED SACCHARIDE POLYMERS AND METHODS FOR PRODUCTION AND USE THEREOF
Fluid contaminants may be prevalent in many industries, such as the mining industry. Functionalized saccharide polymers comprising two or more monosaccharide units linked by glycosidic bonds and having a portion of the monosaccharide units oxidatively opened and functionalized with at least one aminocarboxylic acid covalently bound through nitrogen at a site of oxidative opening may be utilized in conjunction with fluid remediation processes, such as froth flotation. In non-limiting examples, the functionalized saccharide polymers may also be useful for promoting dust control, particulate coating, clay stabilization, and various subterranean treatment operations. Glycine represents one example of an aminocarboxylic acid that may be covalently bonded through nitrogen at a site of oxidative opening.
SURGICAL HYDROGEL
Disclosed are surgical hydrogels derived from the combination of chitosan derivative and aldehyde-derivatised dextran polymers in combination with a humectant for use as surgical wound packing materials or stents. Also disclosed are sterile kits comprising the precursor components of the surgical hydrogels. Also disclosed are methods of sterilizing the kits and individual components thereof for preparing the hydrogels.
