POLYMER COMPOSITIONS AND BIOSURFACES COMPRISING THEM ON SENSORS
Polymer compositions comprising, inter alia, at least two hydrophilic polymers and a crosslinking reagent, biosurfaces comprising such polymer compositions, and methods of creating such biosurfaces by disposing such polymer compositions on sensor surfaces are provided. Sensor surfaces coated with such polymer compositions and biosurfaces are amenable, inter alia, to use in methods and devices for detecting, measuring, and/or quantifying one or more analytes in one or more query samples.
SUBTERRANEAN FLUIDS CONTAINING SUSPENDED POLYMER BODIES
An aqueous suspension of polymer bodies is made by coalescing polymer from a flowing aqueous solution. These suspended bodies may be fibrous in appearance. However, the coalescence of the polymer bodies may be controlled to produce shapes. The coalesced polymer bodies are used for treating a downhole location within or accessed by a borehole. The bodies may be formed by coalescence at the surface and then pumped downhole or may be formed by coalescence downhole. Coalescence of polymer may result from crosslinking, complexing with material of opposite charge, or change in the polymer solution temperature, pH, solute concentration or solvent. The coalesced polymer bodies are maintained in aqueous solution after coalescence, and are not removed from solution for strengthening.

The disclosure relates to an in situ-gelling hydrogel composition based on functionalized zwitterionic polymers. The resulting hydrogels exhibit highly anti-fouling, anti-adhesive, and lubricating properties to enable the fabrication of bulk hydrogels or hydrogel-based coatings of relevance to biomedical applications.
Openly porous acoustic foam, process for manufacture and uses thereof
There is provided a method of manufacturing an openly and highly porous thermoset foam, the method comprising the steps of mixing a thermosetting resin and crystals to form a mixture; applying pressure to the mixture to expel excess thermosetting resin, thereby producing a network of crystals touching each other with the thermosetting resin filling the interstices between the crystals of said network; curing the thermosetting resin in the mixture under pressure to produce a cured material; and contacting the cured material with a solvent for the crystals, thereby leaching the crystals out of the cured material, thereby obtaining said openly and highly porous thermoset foam. There is also provided a thermoset foam made of a thermoset and having a porosity of at least about 70%, wherein more than about 75% of the pores in the foam are connected to a neighboring pore.
Stretchable film and method for forming the same
A stretchable film is made of, at least as a top surface of the stretchable film, a cured product of a stretchable film material containing a silicone polyurethane resin. The top surface of the stretchable film has a repeated uneven pattern formed with depths of 0.1 μm to 2 mm and pitches of 0.1 μm to 5 mm.
