A fluorinated polymer suitable for deposition and capable of favorable metal patterning, is provided. A resin film containing such a fluorinated polymer as a material is provided. Further, a photoelectronic element having such a resin film in its structure is provided.

A process includes combining a copolymer and mono- or di-valent metal ions to form a mixture, wherein the copolymer has from about 70 to about 98 wt % of an alpha-olefin moiety and about 2 to about 30 wt % of a (meth)acrylate moiety; reactively extruding the mixture to form a neutralized copolymer having a melt flow index of from about 5 to about 1500 g/10 min, wherein about 2 to about 50 wt % of the (meth)acrylate moiety is neutralized to form a mono- or di-valent metal salt present in an amount of from about 0.2 to about 20% based on the total (meth)acrylic acid content of the copolymer; and grinding the neutralized copolymer to form the powder having a Dv50 particle size of from about 10 to about 600 μm as determined using ASTM D5861, wherein the process is free of utilizing a liquid and/or a slurry.

There is provided a packaging material comprising a fibre based substrate and a gas barrier layer based on a polyvinyl alcohol (PVOH), wherein said gas barrier layer comprises an interpolymer complex forming agent (IPCFA), which IPCFA is a water-soluble polymer exhibiting functional groups capable of forming hydrogen bonds with —OH groups of the PVOH. Said PVOH has a weight average molecular weight (M.sub.w) measured according to ASTM D4001-13 in the range of about 80 kg/mol to 135 kg/mol, the proportion of said IPCFA to PVOH in said gas barrier layer is in the range of 0.5 to 7.0% (w/w) and said packaging material has an oxygen permeability (OP) below 14 ml μm/m.sup.2 day atm, which OP is obtained by multiplying the oxygen transmission rate (OTR) of the packaging material measured according to ASTM F1927-7 at a relative humidity (RH) of 80% and 23° C. by the thickness of the gas barrier layer.

C. and having functional groups of at least one type selected from the group consisting of carbonyl group-containing groups, hydroxy groups, epoxy groups and isocyanate groups, and in 100 mass % of the total of the thermosetting resin and the fluororesin powder, the proportion of the thermosetting resin is from 70.0 to 99.9 mass % and the proportion of the fluororesin powder is from 0.1 to 30 mass %.
