BIODEGRADABLE COMPOSITION, BIODEGRADABLE WRAP FILM AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREOF
A biodegradable composition, a biodegradable wrap film and a manufacturing method thereof are provided. The biodegradable wrap film includes an inner layer, at least one interlayer formed on the inner layer, and an outer layer formed on the interlayer. The inner layer, the at least one interlayer formed on the inner layer, and the outer layer are respectively formed by the biodegradable composition. The biodegradable composition includes 50 to 98.9 wt % of a polyolefin resin, 1 to 49.9 wt % of a biodegradable polymer and 0.1 to 5 wt % of an organic degradation aid.
POLYPHENYLENES, METHODS, AND USES THEREOF
Described herein are anionic phenylene oligomers and polymers, and devices including these materials. The oligomers and polymers can be prepared in a convenient and well-controlled manner, and can be used in cation exchange membranes. Also described is the controlled synthesis of anionic phenylene monomers and their use in synthesizing anionic oligomers and polymers, with precise control of the position and number of anionic groups.
Proton exchange membrane material and methods of making the same
Hydrocarbon proton exchange membranes are disclosed that are composed of a material including a hydrophobic main chain, and acidic side chains. The main chain includes a polyaryl structure that is substantially free of ether linkages and also includes a fluoromethyl substituted carbon. The acidic side chains include a hydrocarbon tether terminated by a strongly acidic group, such as a fluoroalkyl sulfonate group. Chemical stability of the material is increased by removing the ether linkages from the main chain. The hydrophobic main chain and substantially hydrophilic side chains create a phase-separated morphology that affords enhanced transport of protons and water across the membrane even at low relative humidity levels. These materials are advantageous as membranes for use in fuel cells, redox flow batteries, water hydrolysis systems, sensors, electrochemical hydrogen compressors, actuators, water purifiers, gas separators, etc.
Membranes and Their Uses
Ion exchange membranes obtainable by curing a composition comprising: (a) a curable monomer comprising at least one anionic or cationic group; (b) a photoinitiator which has an absorption maximum at a wavelength longer than 380 nm when measured in one or more of the following solvents at a temperature of 23° C.: water, ethanol and toluene; (c) at least one co-initiator; and optionally (d) optionally a curable monomer which is free from anionic and cationic groups; wherein at least one of the curable monomers present in the composition comprises an aromatic group.
ION EXCHANGE MEMBRANES PREPARED FROM CROSSLINKED ION EXCHANGE POLYMER COMPOSITIONS
A self-supported ion exchange membrane including a polymerized and crosslinked monomer, where the monomer includes: a least one ionic group, a polymerized group, and a silicate group; and a polymer chemically bonded to crosslinked monomer through the silicate group.
Membrane electrode assembly for CO.SUB.x .reduction
Provided herein are membrane electrode assemblies (MEAs) for CO.sub.x reduction. According to various embodiments, the MEAs are configured to address challenges particular to CO.sub.x including managing water in the MEA. Bipolar and anion-exchange membrane (AEM)-only MEAs are described along with components thereof and related methods of fabrication.
TETRAVALENT BORON-CONTAINING PROTON-EXCHANGE SOLID SUPPORTS AND METHODS OF MAKING AND USING TETRAVALENT BORON-CONTAINING PROTON-EXCHANGE SOLID SUPPORTS
A proton exchange solid support includes a porous polymer network including a polymer. The polymer includes a tetravalent boron-based acid group in a side chain of the polymer, and the tetravalent boron-based acid group includes a boron atom having a negative formal charge. A cation is ionically linked to the boron atom.
Metal ionophores in PEM membranes
A membrane electrode assembly for fuel cells includes a proton conducting membrane having a first side and a second side. The proton conducting membrane in turn includes a first polymer including cyclic polyether groups and a second polymer having sulfonic acid groups. The membrane electrode assembly further includes an anode disposed over the first side of the proton conducting layer and a cathode catalyst layer disposed over the second side of the proton conducting layer.
