Polyelemental heterostructure nanoparticles and methods of making the same
Disclosed herein are method and design rules for making polyelemental systems with specific heterostructures, including tetra-phase nanopartides with as many as six junctions. In accordance with an embodiment, a method of making a tetra-phase polyelemental nanoparticle using tri-phase nanoparticle architectures can include selecting two or more triphase nanoparticle architectures, wherein the two or more tri-phase nanoparticle architectures are one or more striped tri-phase architectures, one or more pie-shaped tri-phase architectures, or combinations thereof; identifying from the selected two or more tri-phase nanoparticle architectures groups of metals for generating each of the two or more tri-phase nanoparticle architectures; contacting a tip coated with an ink to a substrate to form a nanoreactor, the ink comprising block copolymer and the metals from the groups of metals identified for generating each of the two or more tri-phase nanoparticle architectures; and annealing the nanoreactors under conditions sufficient to synthesize a tetra-phase polyelemental nanoparticle.

A method for manufacturing a polyester containing at least one 1,4:3,6-dianhydrohexitol unit, including a step of introducing, into a reactor, monomers comprising at least one monomer (A) which is a diacid or a diester and at least one monomer (B) which is a 1,4:3,6-dianhydrohexitol, a step of introducing, into the reactor, a catalytic system comprising either a catalyst comprising the element germanium and a catalyst comprising the element tin, or a catalyst comprising the elements germanium and tin or a mixture of said catalysts, a step of polymerizing the monomers to form the polyester, a step of recovering a polyester composition comprising the polyester and the catalytic system. The invention also relates to a polyester composition containing a catalytic system and the use of same to reduce the colouring of the polyester.
Magnetorheological elastomer and magnetorheological fluid for clinical wrap
A reinforcing clinical wrap is provided with integral thermal management. The clinical wrap includes a fluid circuit for a heat transfer medium to circulate between a fluid inlet and a fluid outlet. A shape conforming medium is disposed within a portion of the clinical wrap providing selective reinforcement support of the portion of the clinical wrap to conform to a surface of a patient. Non-limiting examples of the shape conforming medium may include a magnetorheological elastomer, a magnetorheological elastomer, a magnetorheological foam, a UV curable resin, and a phase change material.
Chelator-functionalized glycosaminoglycans
A compound includes a polysaccharide moiety and one or more chelating agents. The one or more chelating agents are covalently bonded to the polysaccharide moiety. The polysaccharide moiety can include a glycosaminoglycan moiety, such as a hyaluronic acid polymer or a sulfated glycosaminoglycan moiety. The compound can be used to treat or prevent a disease or disorder in a patient with a metal implant. The compound reduces a concentration of metal particulates or metal ions in the subject.

A method, a device, and a composition are disclosed. The method includes providing a polyol blend that includes a polyol resin and an electromagnetic (EMA) additive, providing an isocyanate resin selected such that blending the isocyanate resin with the polyol blend results in an EMA spray foam. The device includes a first compartment containing an isocyanate resin and a second compartment containing a polyol blend, which includes a polyol resin and an EMA additive. The composition includes a polyurethane spray foam and an EMA additive blended into the polyurethane spray foam.

An object of the present invention is to provide a composition that can form a magnetic particle-containing film having excellent magnetic isotropy and has excellent temporal stability. Another object of the present invention is to provide a magnetic particle-containing film that relates to the composition, and an electronic component that includes the magnetic particle-containing film.
The composition according to an embodiment of the present invention is a composition containing magnetic particles and a rheology control agent, in which a content of the magnetic particles having an aspect ratio less than 8 is 25% by mass or more with respect to a total mass of the magnetic particles, the magnetic particles contain metal atoms, the metal atoms contain one or more kinds of specific atoms selected from the group consisting of Ni atoms and Co atoms, and a content of the specific atoms is 50% by mass or more with respect to a total mass of the metal atoms.

A first object of the present invention is to provide a composition that contains electromagnetic wave absorbing particles and has excellent dispersion stability. A second object of the present invention is to provide a film and a cured film that are formed using the aforementioned composition and a manufacturing method of a cured film. A third object of the present invention is to provide an electronic component including a cured film formed using the aforementioned composition.
The composition according to an aspect of the present invention contains electromagnetic wave absorbing particles, a dispersant, and a solvent.
The composition absorbs electromagnetic waves in a frequency band of 1 GHz or higher when formed into a film.
Methods for Microelectronics Fabrication and Packaging Using a Magnetic Polymer
A magnetic polymer for use in microelectronic fabrication includes a polymer matrix and a plurality of ferromagnetic particles disposed in the polymer matrix. The magnetic polymer can be part of an insulation layer in an inductor formed in one or more backend wiring layers of an integrated device. The magnetic polymer can also be in the form of a magnetic epoxy layer for mounting contacts of the integrated device to a package substrate.
Method of manufacturing a functionally graded article
Disclosed herein are methods for manufacturing a functionally graded polymer material. The methods comprise preparing a melted polymer mixture comprising a thermoplastic polymer and a magnetic filler dispersed in the thermoplastic polymer, molding the melted polymer mixture and applying a magnetic field to a portion of the melted polymer mixture to form a functionally graded polymer material. The resulting functionally graded polymer material has a magnetic filler gradient formed through a thickness of the material.
