A single-layer film or sheet comprising a fluororesin, a light-scattering agent and a light absorbing agent, characterized in that the light-scattering agent is at least one light-scattering agent selected from the group consisting of a titanium oxide-containing pigment, a zinc oxide-containing pigment and a cerium oxide-containing pigment, and the content thereof is from 0.01 to 0.175 g/m.sup.2, and the light absorbing agent is at least one light absorbing agent selected from the group consisting of carbon black, a black interference aluminum pigment, black iron oxide and titanium black, and the content thereof is from 0.0005 to 0.035 g/m.sup.2.
WATER REPELLENT COMPOSITIONS
A method of increasing water repellency of an organic porous substrate, such as wood, is provided. The method comprises applying a dispersion of inorganic nanoparticles in a liquid carrier onto a surface of the substrate. The liquid carrier is selected to evaporate substantially entirely at room temperature. For example, the liquid carrier may be selected so that at least 95% of the liquid carrier will evaporate at room temperature, preferably in a 24 hour period following application to the substrate surface.
Titanium dioxide aqueous dispersion and method for producing same
Provided are a titanium dioxide aqueous dispersion having high dispersibility and little aggregation or coarse particles, and a method for producing the same. The titanium dioxide aqueous dispersion contains titanium dioxide particles having a hydrophobic compound such as a higher fatty acid or a salt thereof on the surface, an aqueous dispersion medium, a nonionic surfactant having an HLB value of 10 or higher, and a basic compound such as an alkanolamine, and the pH is in the 8.5-13 range. The method for producing a titanium dioxide aqueous dispersion has a step for mixing the titanium dioxide particles having a hydrophobic compound on the surface, the aqueous dispersion medium, the nonionic surfactant having an HLB value of 10 or higher, and the basic compound to bring the pH of the aqueous dispersion into the 8.5-13 range.
THERMAL STABILIZER FOR POLYESTER
Polymeric composition comprising a thermoplastic polyester and a rare earth compound selected from the group consisting of lanthanum hydroxide, cerium oxide hydrate and mixtures thereof, characterized in that the amount of the thermoplastic polyester in the polymeric composition is more than 50 wt. %, preferably more than 70 wt. %.
RESIN COMPOSITION, MOLDED ARTICLE, AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING RESIN COMPOSITION
To provide a resin composition capable of effectively suppressing the mechanical strength from degrading even if kept under high temperatures and high humidity, and of suppressing color transfer, as well as a molded article with use of the resin composition, and a method for producing the resin composition. The resin composition contains a polyamide resin and cerium oxide, with a lanthanum content in the resin composition of more than 0 ppm by mass and 40 ppm by mass or less.
Resin composition for stereolithography
The present invention provides a resin composition for stereolithography that, with its low consistency, enables easy fabrication while ensuring good shape accuracy and desirable color masking properties in the cured product. The present invention relates to a resin composition for stereolithography comprising: an 80 to 99 mass % polymerizable monomer (a); a 0.1 to 10 mass % photopolymerization initiator (b); a 0.1 to 5.0 mass % inorganic particle (c) having an average particle diameter of 5 to 200 nm; and a 0.01 to 10 mass % metal oxide particle (d) having an average particle diameter of 0.1 to 10 μm, the inorganic particle (c) being different from the metal oxide particle (d).
ACRYLIC AND MODACRYLIC FIBER STABILIZED AGAINST SUNLIGHT
Acrylic and modacrylic fiber stabilized against sunlight The invention is related to increasing the resistance of acrylic fiber containing at least 85% acrylonitrile groups and modacrylic fibers containing at least 40% acrylonitrile groups and at least 40% vinylidene chloride groups, against UV light and surface heating caused by sunlight.
Organic Soil Amendments with Ions Bound Thereto for Removing Contaminants from Aqueous Streams
A composition for treating water including an organic soil amendment and having ions bound thereto is beneficial to aid in the removal of aqueous contaminants, such as phosphate, other phosphorus containing compounds, arsenic, arsenic containing compounds, fluorides, and PFAS from water. In these compositions the ions include rare earth cations, iron cations, and mixtures thereof. There are also methods for making these soil amendment compositions, as well as methods for using these compositions to effectively remove contaminants from water.
