COATING LIQUID FOR PRODUCING GAS BARRIER LAMINATE
Deterioration of gas barrier properties due to sedimentation of aggregates in a coating liquid is decreased or minimized. A coating liquid for producing a gas barrier laminate contains a carboxy group-containing polymer, polyvalent metal-containing particles, a high molecular weight dispersant with an acidic group, and an organic solvent, and has a pH in a range of 4 to 6 at 25° C.
BARRIER ADDITIVES
The present invention relates to processes for making compatibilized high aspect ratio barrier additives and polymer compositions that comprise compatibilized high aspect ratio barrier additives. The invention also relates to compositions produced by these processes, and articles formed from polymer compositions of this invention. The barrier additives provide passive barriers to gas molecules such as oxygen and carbon dioxide minimizing transit of such molecules through sidewalls of polymer articles containing the barrier additives.
USE OF GRAPHENE-POLYMER COMPOSITES TO IMPROVE BARRIER RESISTANCE OF POLYMERS TO LIQUID AND GAS PERMEANTS
A packaging material comprising a graphene-reinforced polymer matrix composite (G-PMC) is disclosed. The packaging material has improved barrier resistance to gas and liquid permeants. Also disclosed is a method of improving barrier resistance of a polymer to a permeant, the method comprising forming a graphene-reinforced polymer matrix composite within the polymer. The packaging material may be used for packaging food, drug, perfume, etc. and to make various containers.

COMPOSTABLE OXYGEN BARRIER COMPRISING A BIODEGRADABLE POLYMER MATRIX AND BIOCARBON
A biodegradable composite comprising a polymeric matrix including but not limited to poly lactide (PLA), poly (butylene succinate) 20 (PBS), poly(butylene succinate adipate) (PBSA), including bio-based PBSA (BioPBSA), poly(butylene adipate-co-terephthalate) (PBAT), polycaprolactone (PCL), polyhydroxyalkanoate (PHA(s)), poly(3-hydroxy)butyrate (PHB), poly(3-hydroxy-butyrate-hydroxyvalerate) (PHBV), copolyester of the monomers 1.4-butanediol, adipic acid and terephthalic acid (Ecoflex™) and polypropylene carbonate (PPC), and biocarbon, a.k.a. biochar or pyrolyzed biomass as a sustainable filler. The biodegradable composite achieves high oxygen barrier with balanced water barrier. Also, a method of manufacturing the biodegradable composite and articles of manufacturing comprising the biodegradable composite. The articles of manufacturing have application in limiting gas permeation into a package and extending shelf life of a material.
ADHESIVE COMPOUNDS CONTAINING GETTER MATERIALS THAT CAN BE ACTIVATED
An adhesive comprising a getter material and optionally a solvent comprising a catalyst activatable by means of an external stimulus for the reaction of the getter material with a permeate can tolerate brief contact with permeates such as moisture in particular before user application, without any significant impairment of getter capacity.
Cured product
The present application relates to a cured product and the use thereof. The cured product has excellent processability, workability, and adhesive properties or the like, and does not cause whitening and surface stickiness, etc. The cured product has excellent transparency, moisture resistance, mechanical properties, and cracking resistance, etc. The cured product, for example, may be applied as an encapsulant or an adhesive material of a semiconductor device to provide a device having high long-term reliability.
ADHESIVE COMPOUNDS COMPRISING MULTI-FUNCTIONAL SILOXANE WATER SCAVENGERS
An adhesive having water vapour barrier properties, comprising an adhesive base composed of at least one reactive resin, at least one elastomer and optionally at least one tackifying resin, and optionally a solvent, is particularly suitable as a barrier adhesive when it comprises at least one multifunctional oligomeric alkoxysiloxane, said oligomeric alkoxysiloxane containing more than one polymerizable group and more than one alkoxy group.
Polyester resin composition, adhesive and film
A polyester resin composition according to the present invention includes a polyester polyol having a glycerol skeleton and a curing agent, wherein 5 percent by mass or more of glycerol residue of the polyester polyol is contained in the polyester resin composition. The resin composition can provide an adhesive exhibiting an excellent adhesive force. The adhesive has a gas barrier property or a water vapor barrier property and, therefore, a gas barrier or water vapor barrier film can be provided by using the adhesive.
