A first of the at least two polyurethane polymers has a first backbone chain formed from a first diisocyanate, a first hydrophobic graft diol, a first polycarbonate based diol, and a sulfonated diamine. A second of the at least two polyurethane polymer has a second backbone chain formed from a second diisocyanate, a second hydrophobic graft diol, and a second polycarbonate based diol, and includes a mono-amino substituted sulfonic acid as its capping moiety.

Fluorine-containing ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer resin composition as well as mixture and blend thereof

The instant disclosure relates to a fluorine-containing ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer (EVOH) resin composition as well as mixture and blend thereof. The fluorine-containing EVOH resin composition comprises EVOH and fluorine-containing particles, wherein the fluorine-containing EVOH resin composition has a total fluoride ion content ranging from 45 to 41000 ppm. The invention can reduce the adhesion of EVOH to the inside of the extruder, and effectively reduce the appearance of gel or gelled substance in subsequent finished products.

An object of the present invention is to provide a PVA-based resin having a small distribution in degree of heat treatment in which the degree of heat treatment does not depend on a particle diameter. The polyvinyl alcohol-based resin of the present invention has an absorbance at 280 nm of 0.3 or more when being made to a 0.1 wt % aqueous solution and satisfies the following Formula (1): 0.9≤X.sub.1/Y.sub.1≤1.2 (in Formula (1), X.sub.1 represents an absorbance at 320 nm of a 0.1 wt % aqueous solution of a polyvinyl alcohol-based resin having a particle diameter larger than 1000 μm and 1680 μm or less, and Y.sub.1 represents an absorbance at 320 nm of a 0.1 wt % aqueous solution of a polyvinyl alcohol-based resin having a particle diameter larger than 212 μm and 500 μm or less).

Spider-silk-like polymer fiber, preparation method therefor and use thereof

The invention relates to a spider-silk-like polymer fiber in the technical field of chemical bionics, a preparation method therefor and the use thereof. The spider-silk-like polymer fiber comprises a matrix polymer and a particle additive dispersed therein, wherein the particles have an average particle size of 0.1-1000 microns, and the polymer fiber has a spider-silk-like microstructure comprising a fiber body and spaced spindle knot structural units on the fiber body, wherein the spindle knot structural units comprise the particles, and the radial height of the spindle knot structural units is greater than the diameter of the fiber body. The preparation method of the polymer fiber of the invention does not require greatly modifying the existing spinning processes, and the equipment does not need to be changed, the process is simple, and the cost is low. The obtained spider-silk-like polymer fiber can realize the directional movement of water droplets on the surface of the fiber, thereby having a water gathering function and can be used for preparing water gathering materials.

A biopolymer blend is provided that comprises a combination of three components: poly (butylene adipate-co-terephthalate) (PBAT); agriculture sourced polylactic acid (PLA); and engineered proteinaceous eggshell nanoparticles. The two polymer components can be present in any ratio but an approximate 70:30 ratio is preferred. The engineered proteinaceous eggshell nanoparticles are preferably about 10-25 nanometers. Also provided are methods of preparing biopolymer film and packaging components. Pelleted poly (butylene adipate-co-terephthalate) and agriculture sourced polylactic acid (PLA) are dissolved in chloroform and mixed together to form a polymer blend, and engineered proteinaceous eggshell nanoparticles are incorporated into the polymer blend, which is then extruded to create a biopolymer film or component.

Composition comprising heterophasic propylene copolymer

The invention relates to a composition comprising a heterophasic propylene copolymer (A), glass fibers (B) and an ethylene-α-olefin copolymer (C), wherein the α-olefin is chosen from the group of α-olefins having 3 to 12 carbon atoms. The heterophasic propylene copolymer (A) consists of (a) a propylene-based matrix, consisting of a propylene homopolymer and/or a propylene-α-olefin copolymer consisting of at least 85 wt % of propylene and at most 15 wt % of α-olefin, and (b) a dispersed ethylene-α-olefin copolymer, wherein the heterophasic propylene copolymer has a flexural modulus of less than 1000 MPa, wherein the dispersed ethylene α-olefin copolymer (b) has an average rubber particle size d.sub.50 of at most 1.15 μm as determined by scanning electron microscopy, and wherein the total amount of (b) the dispersed ethylene-α-olefin copolymer in the heterophasic propylene copolymer (A) and the ethylene-α-olefin copolymer (C) is 30 to 60 wt % based on the total composition.
