The present disclosure relates to compounds that are useful as near-infrared fluorescence probes, wherein the compounds include i) a ligand that binds to the active site of carbonic anhydrase, ii) a dye molecule, and iii) a linker molecule that comprises an amino acid, amide, ureido, or polyethylene glycol derivative thereof. The disclosure further describes methods and compositions for making and using the compounds, methods incorporating the compounds, and kits incorporating the compounds.

Rapid prototyping and delivery of fluorescent medical devices using a 3D printer provided with a processed digital design and fluorescent filament feedstock. The fluorescent filament may comprise a polymer such as acrylonitrile butadiene styrene and between 10 and 100 ppm of a fluorophore such as indocyanine green embedded uniformly throughout the polymer. The filament may include about one percent by weight of a colorant. The 3D printer may be located at the site of use by an end user, such as a physician office, hospital, or operating room for printing of the fluorescent medical device on demand.

The system and method leverage the photosensitivity of the photosensitive molecule and high precision of light positioning for the fabrication of a high-resolution construct. The system and method may enable the fabrication of nano-constructs of simple and complex material designs, wherein the constructs may implement multiple distinct build materials and gradients of build materials.
