Dyes, dye-sensitized solar cells, and methods of making and using the same
Provided herein are dyes, dye-sensitized solar cells, and sequential series multijunction dye-sensitized solar cell devices. The dyes include an electron deficient acceptor moiety, a medium electron density ?-bridge moiety, and an electron rich donor moiety comprising a biaryl, a substituted biaryl, or an R1, R2, R3 substituted phenyl where each of R1, R2, and R3 independently comprises H, aryl, multiaryl, alkyl substituted aryl, alkoxy substituted aryl, alkyl substituted multiaryl, alkoxy substituted multiaryl, OR4, N(R5)2, or a combination thereof; each R4 independently comprises H, alkyl, aryl, alkyl substituted aryl, alkoxy substituted aryl, or a combination thereof; and each R5 independently comprises aryl, multiaryl, alkyl substituted aryl, alkoxy substituted aryl, alkyl substituted multiaryl, alkoxy substituted multiaryl, or a combination thereof. The solar cells include a glass substrate, a dye-sensitized active layer, and a redox shuttle. The devices include at least two dye-sensitized solar cells connected in series. ##STR00001##

Oxacycloolefinic polymers as typically obtained by metathesis polymerization using Ru-catalysts, show good solubility and are well suitable as dielectric material in electronic devices such as capacitors and organic field effect transistors.

A coloring composition including: (A) a colorant; (C) a binder resin; (D) a polymerizable compound; and (F) a solvent, wherein
the colorant (A) comprises (A1) a pigment having a structure represented by the following Formula (X), and (A2) an isoindoline pigment, and
wherein the solvent (F) comprises (G) at least one member selected from the group consisting of an alcohol, a ketone, and an alkyl lactate:

STRETCHED FILM, CIRCULARLY POLARIZING PLATE, AND DISPLAY DEVICE
The present invention provides a stretched film exhibiting excellent reverse wavelength dispersibility, a circularly polarizing plate, and a display device. The stretched film of an embodiment of the present invention is a stretched film having a slow axis in an in-plane direction, in which the stretched film satisfies a relationship of Formula (A) Re(450)/Re(550)<1.00, and an absorption at a wavelength of 700 to 900 nm in a fast axis direction of the stretched film is larger than an absorption at a wavelength of 700 to 900 nm in a slow axis direction of the stretched film. In Formula (A) Re(450) represents an in-plane retardation of the stretched film at a wavelength of 450 nm and Re(550) represents an in-plane retardation of the stretched film at a wavelength of 550 nm.
OPTICAL FILTER AND IMAGING DEVICE
An optical filter includes: a resin substrate including a resin (P) which has a glass transition temperature of 200° C. or higher and which has specific transmittance properties; an external resin layer; and dielectric multilayer films. In a case where the external resin layer includes the polyimide resin, the optical filter includes an intermediate resin layer including a cycloolefin resin. At least one of the dielectric multilayer films is a near-infrared reflection layer. At least one of the external resin layer and the intermediate resin layer contains a near-infrared absorbing dye (A). The near-infrared absorbing dye (A) has a maximum absorption wavelength within a wavelength range of 800 nm to 1,200 nm. The proportion of a total thickness of members including a resin having a glass transition temperature of 200° C. or higher to a total thickness of the resin-including members is 85% or higher.

Provided is a coloring composition capable of forming a cured film having desired spectral characteristics even for thin-film. In addition, provided are a cured film, a pattern forming method, a color filter, a solid-state imaging element, and an image display device. The coloring composition contains: a pigment A having a structure in which an aromatic ring group into which a group with an oxygen atom, a sulfur atom, or a nitrogen atom bonded to an aromatic ring is introduced is bonded to a diketopyrrolopyrrole skeleton; and a compound having a curable group. A content of the pigment A in a total solid content of the coloring composition is 40% by mass or more.

In Formula (1), L.sup.1 represents an n-valent linking group, n represents an integer of 2 to 10, where in a case where n is 2, L.sup.1 may be a single bond, and Dye's each independently represent a coloring agent structure having a maximal absorption wavelength in a wavelength range of 650 nm to 2,000 nm.
RED PIGMENT COMPOSITION FOR COLOR FILTER
Disclosed is a pigment composition which comprises (a) a pigment of formula wherein Ar.sup.1 is phenylene or C.sub.2-C.sub.6-heteroarylene, Ar.sup.2 is C.sub.6-C.sub.10-aryl or C.sub.2-C.sub.6-heteroaryl; and (b) a pigment derivative of formula (PM-C X1). (II), wherein P.sup.1 is a residue of a colorant chromophore, X.sup.1 is a group comprising an aliphatic carboxamide group, an aliphatic sulfonamide group, a carboxylic acid group or salt thereof, and m is 1, 2, 3 or 4. The pigment composition is suitable to color organic material, especially photosensitive resist formulations for use in color filter applications having high contrast ratios.

Isodiketopyrrolopyrrole dye and use thereof
The present invention discloses an isodiketopyrrolopyrrole dye and use thereof. A series of pure organic dye based on isodiketopyrrolopyrrole are synthesized in the present invention, using 4,4′-dihexyloxytriphenylamine as an electron donor, isodiketopyrrolopyrrole as a π-bridge, and cyanoacetic acid as an electron acceptor and an anchoring group, and with a alkyl chain introduced on an isodiketopyrrolopyrrole group. The types of dyes have a relatively good light-harvesting performance as well as a relatively large steric hindrance, and they are not easy to gather while being absorbed on a semiconducting film. The pure organic dye with isodiketopyrrolopyrrole as an electronic π-bridge, which is used in a dye-sensitized solar cell, has a good ability of inhibiting the recombination of electrons, and the dye-sensitized solar cells have a high photoelectric conversion efficiency.
