The compound includes a polymer which has a monomer unit having a specific structure and also includes a specific partial structure.

Dye polymer

The present invention relates to polymeric shading dye and their use in laundry applications. The polymers are alkoxylated polyethylene imines and the dyes are reactive dyes.

Stabilized photo-alignment layer for liquid crystal

A liquid-crystal photo-alignment layer that is composed of polymer stabilized azo dyes is provided, where a polymer network is introduced in the photo-alignment layer for stabilization. The photo-alignment layer is realized based on a two-step irradiation to first achieve molecule alignment to form the photo-alignment layer and then stabilize this layer. To realize the photo-alignment layer, a pre-determined surface of the substrate is first coated with a film of mixture. The mixture comprises an azo dye and a monomer preferably mixed in an optimal concentration of 0.67 wt/wt. The azo dye and the monomer have light-absorption peaks at different wavelengths such that photo-alignment of the azo-dye molecules and stabilization of the photo-alignment layer by polymerization of the monomer are achievable by two separate exposures of light to the film.

CATIONIC PARTICLES COMPRISING CYCLOPROPENIUM, THEIR PREPARATION AND USES

Embodiments of the present invention provides compounds, compositions, and methods for their preparation or synthesis that provide polymer-based cationic particles, such as, e.g., polymer-nucleic acid complexes, for delivering molecules including biomolecules, which is particularly desirable in gene therapy. Inventive materials include positively-charged linear homopolymers and block copolymers by living free radical polymerization, and polymer-based particles by emulsion polymerization. These polymers and particles may be conjugated with a wide range of biomolecules, and may deliver molecules, including, drug molecules, contrast agents, dyes, and the like, by loading them into the interior of the particles prior to polymerization. These conjugated and/or labeled polymers and particles may be delivered to cells to administer their cargo and achieve a therapeutic response. Additional embodiments may be directed to the methods of synthesizing and using the compounds and compositions, as well as kits comprising the compounds, compositions, and formulations, and desired molecules for delivery.

20170226361 · 2017-08-10 · ·

An aqueous inkjet ink composition is disclosed and includes a dye based polymeric dispersant, an aqueous organic solvent, at least one additive and water for inkjet printing specific patterns on various texture products. The dye based polymeric dispersant is present in an amount of from 2 to 30 percent by weight of the total weight of the inkjet ink composition, the aqueous organic solvent is 15 to 65 percent by weigh, and the at least one additive less than 2 percent by weigh. The dye based polymeric dispersant, the aqueous organic solvent and the at least one additive are dissolved or dispersed in water. The present invention does not easily clog at printerhead nozzles and gets rid of a great deal of industrial waste water and a tedious and complex post treatment of water cleaning, thereby scaling down the manufacturing apparatus for digital fabric.

METHOD FOR COLORING A SUBSTRATE USING ATMOSPHERIC PRESSURE PLASMA POLYMERIZATION
20170275814 · 2017-09-28 · ·

Methods for coloration of substrates, including textiles, by plasma polymerization of dyes to which polymerizable moieties have been chemically bonded at sites on the dye capable of bonding to such moieties, and that have been deposited on at least one surface of the substrate, are described. Atmospheric pressure plasmas were used for the polymerization process. Generally, the plasma polymerization is performed away from the dye deposition so that undeposited dye is not exposed to the plasma. Textiles may include cotton, polyester, wool, silk, acrylics, polypropylene, polyolefins, aramids, and nylon, and blends thereof. The plasma-polymerizable moiety may be chosen from acrylates, methacrylates, and vinyl amides. Dye functional groups may include hydroxyl groups, carboxyl groups, amines: primary, secondary, and tertiary, epoxides, carboxylic acids, and chlorides, and dyes may include acid dyes, disperse dyes, azo dyes, vat dyes, sulfur dyes, direct dyes, reactive dyes, basic dyes, pigment dyes, aniline dyes, anthraquinone dyes, and coumarin dyes, as examples.
