Carbon black molded body and a method for producing the same
The present invention provides a carbon black molded body having different pore structure from conventional carbon black. A carbon black molded body of the present invention includes a peak M of a pore volume being exist in a specified pore diameter in the specified Log differential pore volume distribution; a specified half band width of the peak M; a specified ratio of the half band width/an area-based median diameter; and a specified difference between a maximum value and a minimum value of a Log differential pore volume.
METHOD FOR PRODUCING TRANSPARENT CERAMICS
A method produces transparent ceramics having high transmittance and no bubble defects with uniform insertion loss over the entire inner surface thereof. The method comprising the steps of: obtaining a candidate composition containing a binder, optionally a dispersant, and optionally a plasticizer; dissolving the candidate composition in a solvent, then reducing a contained solvent volume to 0.1% by mass or less, and measuring a glass transition temperature; selecting a candidate composition having a glass transition temperature of 25° C. or more and 60° C. or less as an organic additive composition; preparing the organic additive composition containing the binder, optionally the dispersant, and the plasticizer, and having the composition obtained in the selecting step; pulverizing a raw material for sintering formed from metal oxide powder and the organic additive composition to obtain a pulverized mixture; granulating the pulverized mixture; sintering the granulated mixture to obtain a sintered body; and pressurizing the sintered body.

METHOD FOR PRODUCING EFFECT PIGMENT PASTES USING A VIBRATOR
Described herein is a process for producing an effect pigment paste including at least steps (1) and (2), namely producing a mixture including at least one effect pigment (a) and at least one polymer (b) in a liquid medium (c) (step (1)), and dispersing the mixture obtained after step (1) to obtain the effect pigment paste (step (2)), where step (2) is performed using a shaker and the effect pigment paste obtained after the performance of step (2) has ended is free of grinding media. Also described herein are an effect pigment paste producible by this process, containing an amount of effect pigment of at least 5% by weight, based on the total weight of the effect pigment paste, and a method of using a shaker for dispersing of effect pigments for production of an effect pigment paste.

Mineral composition, especially for use in paper fillers and paper or plastic coatings
A mineral composition comprising mineral particles, said mineral particles, when in a densely compacted bed form, having a volume defined median pore diameter from 0.01 to 0.04 micrometre, and having an intruded total specific void volume of 0.1-0.3 cm.sup.3/g. A specific advantage of this composition is that it as a component in a coating, allows the passage of ink solvent into the base paper while retaining the ink molecules on the surface.
