PACKAGING PRINT MEDIA
A packaging print medium can include a cellulose-based substrate having a printing side and a back side, a fixative sizing layer on a printing side of the cellulose-based substrate, a primer layer on the back side of the cellulose-based substrate, and a hydrophobic moisture barrier including a hydrophobic polymer film on the primer layer. The fixative sizing layer can have a thickness from 0.5 μm to 15 μm and can include a multivalent metal salt and a starch sizing agent. The primer layer can have a thickness from 0.5 μm to 15 μm and can include a styrene-butadiene film. The hydrophobic moisture barrier can have a thickness from 0.5 μm to 10 μm.

MODIFIED NATURAL MATERIAL AND USE THEREOF
An oil repellent agent including a modified natural product having at least one hydroxyl group, wherein a hydrogen atom of the hydroxyl group is replaced with an R group represented by —Y—Z, wherein Y represents a direct bond, —C(═O)—, —C(═O)—NR′— or —C(═S)—NR′—, where R′ represents a hydrogen atom or a C.sub.1 to C.sub.4 alkyl group); and Z represents a hydrocarbon group having 1 to 40 carbon atoms and optionally having a substituent or a polysiloxane. The natural material is a natural product other than starch and preferably is a monosaccharide, a polysaccharide, glycerin or polyglycerin. Also disclosed is a textile product to which the oil-resistant agent is attached, an oil-resistant paper and a method of treating paper with the oil-resistant agent.

The subject matter of the invention is a modified starch, characterized in that it exhibits: ⋅a weight-average molecular weight ranging from 250 000 to 2 000 000 Da; ⋅a solubility, measured according to a test A, ranging from 50 to 85%. The invention also relates to a process for the manufacture of said starch and to the use thereof in the manufacture of an aqueous binder.

COATING PROVIDING MODULATED RELEASE OF VOLATILE COMPOSITIONS
Described are modulating coatings that are configured to provide an improved release profile of a volatile composition from a base material, wherein the modulating coating includes a barrier substance that is configured to hinder a release of the volatile composition through the modulating coating, and a hygroscopic substance that is configured to facilitate the release of the volatile composition through the modulating coating.

Method for the production of mineral wool
A process for manufacturing insulating products based on mineral wool includes: the application, on mineral wool fibers, of a binder composition containing (a) at least one carbohydrate selected from reducing sugars, non-reducing sugars, hydrogenated sugars and a mixture thereof, and (b) at least one crosslinking agent for crosslinking the carbohydrate(s); the evaporation of the solvent phase of the binder composition; and the thermal curing of the non-volatile fraction of the composition. A polysaccharide-free oil-in-water emulsion comprising water, a mineral oil and from 0.5 to 5.0 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of mineral oil of at least one preferably nonionic surfactant, is added to the binder composition, preferably immediately before the application thereof onto the mineral wool fibers, the mean diameter of the oil droplets of the oil-in-water emulsion, determined by laser diffraction particle size analysis, being greater than 5 μm.
FILM AND SEED COATING COMPOSITION
A film coating composition, and seed coating composition formed comprising the film forming composition. The film coating composition comprises rosin resin and/or starch derivative and wax dispersion. The sum of rosin/starch and wax in the film coating composition being in the range 2 to 60 wt.%. The seed coating formulation optionally comprises an agrochemical active and/or nutrient, and is applied to seeds or bulbs for wet and dry flowability, abrasion resistance, dust off, germination, plantability and colour retention. In particular, the seed coating composition provides said properties whilst essentially or completely microplastic free. There is also provided a method of making the formulations, and for treating seeds or bulbs with seed coating formulation.
