FILM AND SEED COATING COMPOSITION

A film coating composition, and seed coating composition formed comprising the film forming composition. The film coating composition comprises rosin resin and/or starch derivative and wax dispersion. The sum of rosin/starch and wax in the film coating composition being in the range 2 to 60 wt.%. The seed coating formulation optionally comprises an agrochemical active and/or nutrient, and is applied to seeds or bulbs for wet and dry flowability, abrasion resistance, dust off, germination, plantability and colour retention. In particular, the seed coating composition provides said properties whilst essentially or completely microplastic free. There is also provided a method of making the formulations, and for treating seeds or bulbs with seed coating formulation.

The biodegradable substrate is certified biodegradable in accordance with EN 13432. A method of production thereof is also disclosed.

A capsule, especially for preparing a beverage from beverage powder, in particular of coffee from coffee powder, by introducing water into the capsule, wherein the capsule comprises a compacted pellet made of a powder containing at least one polysaccharide, wherein the compacted pellet is sheathed with at least one coating layer, wherein the at least one coating layer comprises a cross-linked polysaccharide, wherein the cross-linked polysaccharide can be obtained by cross-linking a polysaccharide with a cross-linking agent without the use of a polyol spacer.

A method for manufacturing such a capsule comprises the following steps: i) preparing a compacted pellet from a powder containing at least one polysaccharide, ii) bringing at least one part and preferably the entire surface of the compacted pellet used in step i) into contact with a solution of a polysaccharide in a solvent or with a dispersion of a polysaccharide in a dispersant, iii) when appropriate, removing of the compacted pellet from the solution or dispersion of step ii), iv) bringing the compacted pellet obtained in step ii) or iii) into contact with at least one cross-linking agent, v) when appropriate, removing the compacted pellet from the solution of step iv) and vi) drying of the compacted pellet obtained in step iv) or v).

Resin Composition

The resin composition of the present invention comprises 40 to 98 parts by mass of a modified starch (A), 2 to 60 parts by mass of a polyvinyl alcohol (B) having a degree of saponification of 75.0 mol% or more, and optionally a clay (C), wherein the total content of the (A), (B) and (C) is 100 parts by mass, and the peak temperature of tan δ in measurement of dynamic viscoelasticity in a range of 20° C. to 150° C. is 128° C. or lower.

Resin Composition

The resin composition of the present invention comprises 40 to 98 parts by mass of a modified starch (A), 2 to 60 parts by mass of a polyvinyl alcohol (B) having a degree of saponification of 75.0 mol% or more, and optionally a clay (C), wherein the total content of the (A), (B) and (C) is 100 parts by mass, and the peak temperature of tan δ in measurement of dynamic viscoelasticity in a range of 20° C. to 150° C. is 128° C. or lower.
