The invention provides a polyolefin composition comprising (i) a polyolefin (A) comprising epoxy groups; and (ii) a polyolefin (B) comprising carboxylic acid groups and/or precursors thereof, with the proviso that at least one of (A) and (B) is polyethylene. Preferably one of (A) and (B) is a low density polyethylene (LDPE) and the other is a polypropylene.

The invention provides a polyolefin composition comprising (i) a polyolefin (A) comprising epoxy groups; and (ii) a polyolefin (B) comprising carboxylic acid groups and/or precursors thereof, with the proviso that at least one of (A) and (B) is polyethylene. Preferably one of (A) and (B) is a low density polyethylene (LDPE) and the other is a polypropylene.

The invention provides a polymer composition comprising (i) an LDPE; (ii) a polypropylene; (iii) polyolefin (A) comprising epoxy groups; and (iii) polyolefin (B) comprising carboxylic acid groups and/or precursor thereof.

The invention provides a polymer composition comprising (i) an LDPE; (ii) a polypropylene; (iii) polyolefin (A) comprising epoxy groups; and (iii) polyolefin (B) comprising carboxylic acid groups and/or precursor thereof.

The present disclosure provides for an aqueous dispersion for use in coating applications. The aqueous dispersion includes an aqueous composition and a solid content of a melt blend product having an acid functionalized polypropylene base polymer, a polypropylene copolymer, an acid functionalized polypropylene wax and an acid functionalized polyolefin. The aqueous dispersion is included in a coating composition, where the coating composition includes the aqueous dispersion, a solvent, a crosslinker and a basic water composition having water and a base. The present disclosure also provides for a coated article having a substrate and a coating on the substrate, where the coating includes the coating composition of the present disclosure.

A resin composition can be used as a raw material of a primer, and capable of superior solution stability, adhesion to a non-polar substrate, and/or chipping resistance in a coating film formed from the composition. The resin composition includes a component A: a modified polyolefin resin, and a component B: a polymer having a functional group at least in a terminal thereof, and having a number-average molecular weight in a range of 1,000 to 20,000, and containing a constituent unit (i) derived from a (meth)acrylate ester of a formula, CH.sub.2═C(R.sup.1)COOR.sup.2, wherein R.sup.1 is a hydrogen atom or a methyl group, R.sup.2 is a —C.sub.nH.sub.2n+1 group, and n is an integer of 1 to 18)

A resin composition can be used as a raw material of a primer, and capable of superior solution stability, adhesion to a non-polar substrate, and/or chipping resistance in a coating film formed from the composition. The resin composition includes a component A: a modified polyolefin resin, and a component B: a polymer having a functional group at least in a terminal thereof, and having a number-average molecular weight in a range of 1,000 to 20,000, and containing a constituent unit (i) derived from a (meth)acrylate ester of a formula, CH.sub.2═C(R.sup.1)COOR.sup.2, wherein R.sup.1 is a hydrogen atom or a methyl group, R.sup.2 is a —C.sub.nH.sub.2n+1 group, and n is an integer of 1 to 18)

An aqueous resin dispersion wherein a polymer (C) obtained by bonding a polyolefin (A) to a polyether resin (B) is dispersed in water; and the polyether resin (B) contains a polyether resin (B1) having an HLB of less than 8 and a polyether resin (B2) having an HLB of 8 to 20 according to calculation by the Griffin method.

The present disclosure provides for an aqueous dispersion for use in coating applications. The aqueous dispersion includes an aqueous composition and a solid content of a melt blend product having an acid functionalized polypropylene base polymer, a polypropylene copolymer, an acid functionalized polypropylene wax and an acid functionalized polyolefin. A paint composition intended for application to a metallic substrate, wherein the paint composition includes an amount of a copolymer emulsion formulation for improving the adhesion of the paint composition to the metallic substrate.
