POLYMERIC MATERIALS WITH NEGATIVE PHOTOELASTIC CONSTANTS
Doped poly(2-vinylpyridine) which comprises 2 to 30 wt % of a dopant which is a C.sub.9-C.sub.25 aliphatic polycyclic compound.
MODIFIED POLYMERS AND STABLE EMULSIONS COMPRISING THE SAME
A modified polymer includes a diene-based polymeric chain and at least one end terminated with a blocked isocyanate group. The blocked isocyanate group may be the reaction product of an isocyanate and a blocking agent, and the blocking agent is selected, such that the modified polymer deblocks at temperatures of at least 100 C. An aqueous emulsion of the modified polymer may be provided that may be surfactant-free. The emulsion may be combined with one or more latexes to provide a treatment solution for a fabric or fiber that does not require the use of resorcinol and formaldehyde. Once treated and dried, the fabric or fiber may be used to impart tensile strength to rubber products, such as tires, air springs, flexible couplings, power transmission belts, conveyor belts, and fluid routing hoses.

Switchable water-based paint or coating compositions
The present application provides switchable, homogeneous paint composition and methods of painting and/or forming films or coatings using the composition. The composition includes a liquid having an aqueous solution and dissolved acid gas (e.g., carbonated water), and a switchable polymer. The switchable polymer converts from a protonated, water-soluble form in the liquid to a water-insoluble unprotonated form following removal or substantial removal of the liquid and acid gas.
Thin film, method of manufacturing thin film, and light-emitting device including thin film
A thin film includes a luminescent compound represented by Formula 1 and a random copolymer, wherein the random copolymer includes a first repeating unit including at least one aromatic ring, and a second repeating unit including a heteroatom including at least one lone pair of electrons,
