The current invention relates to a novel water-soluble, biodegradable, non-toxic, composition, and methods thereof, for reducing indoor and outdoor pollution of ambient air that is in proximity to a surface coated with the disclosed composition. The disclosed particle-binding composition comprises di- and trivalent alcohols, at least one thickener, at least one short chain triglyceride, and optionally, at least one additive.
Article with a Hydrophobic Surface Coated with a Temporary Super-Hydrophobic Film Providing Antirain Functionality and Process for Obtaining Same
The present invention relates to an article having a surface coated with a nanostructured temporary super-hydrophobic film having a static contact angle with water of at least 140°, preferably exhibiting multiple length scales of roughness and comprising nanoparticles functionalized with a hydrophobic agent, wherein the functionalization of the nanoparticles with the hydrophobic agent has been performed before said nanostructured temporary super-hydrophobic film is coated on said surface. The surface of the article exhibits a static contact angle with water of at least 60° before being coated with the nanostructured temporary super-hydrophobic film. The treatment according to the invention can be used to provide an antirain function to optical articles having a hydrophobic surface.
Removable, biodegradable coating
The present invention relates to a functional coating obtained from an aqueous coating composition, which composition comprises a pigment and a polymeric binder, wherein the binder has a weight average molecular weight of from 2000 to 50000 g/mole, and an acid value of 40 to 250, and wherein the binder is a polyester comprising a side group introduced by a Diels-Alder and/or pericyclic Ene-reaction, wherein the side group contains an ionic group and/or an ion-forming group.
Gemstone coatings and methods of making and using the same
Disclosed herein are coated gemstones, coatings for gemstones, methods of coating gemstones, and methods of using coatings on gemstones to avoid blemishes on gemstones. In some embodiments, diamonds are functionalized with anchor molecules that bind hydrophilic cyclodextrin molecules to confer hydrophilicity on the diamond. In some embodiments, the diamonds resist dirt and grime build-up.
REVERSIBLE CULTURAL RELIC PROTECTION MATERIAL WITH FUNCTION OF INHIBITING GROWTH OF BACTERIA AND MOLD
The present invention provides a type of reversible cultural relics protection material with function of inhibiting growth of bacteria and molds. The reversible cultural relic protection material is selected from at least one of linalool, camphene, pinene, camphor, borneol, thymol, coumarin, ethyl maltol, cyclododecane, a compound that is solid at ambient temperature and contains a p-methylisopropylcyclohexane structure, and solid cycloalkane. The reversible cultural relic protection material provided by the present invention has the advantages of simple preparation and use methods, good antibacterial efficiency, and at the same time, it can temporarily solidify the cultural relics.
Gloss removable coating
A coating composition comprises at least one solvent, at least one resin, and at least one filler, wherein the filler is silica-deficient, sodium-potassium alumina silicate. The silica-deficient filler may be a sodium-potassium alumina silicate that contains less than 0.1 percent by weight crystalline silica and is 5 percent by weight or less of the coating composition or 1 percent by weight or less of the coating composition. In the later instance, the coating composition contains less than 0.001 percent crystalline silica. The resin may comprise styrene, styrenic copolymers, or mixtures including styrene. The composition provides a temporary gloss coating that may be removed physically, as by peeling for example. A method for coating a substrate with a coating that maybe removed by physical means is also provided. The method comprises applying the disclosed coating composition.
ONE-PART WATERBORNE / WATER-BASED DRY ERASE PAINT AND ANTI-GRAFFITI PAINT
The present disclosure relates to one-pot, water-based/waterborne dry erasable paints, anti-graffiti paints, and surfaces. The dry erasable paints can be used to create dry erase coatings on virtually any type of substrate surface. The paints comprise an Si-containing compound, water, and an ingredient selected from the group consisting of binders, acids, salts, surfactants, and glycerin, and create a dry surface where the flexibility, adhesion, dye resistance, and chemical resistance best matches the substrate and use.
CONDUCTIVE POLYMER COMPOSITION, COATED PRODUCT, AND PATTERNING PROCESS
