Pavement repair system
A pavement repair system is provided utilizing solid phase auto regenerative cohesion and homogenization by liquid asphalt oligopolymerization technologies. The system is suitable for use in repairing asphalt pavement, including pavement exhibiting a high degree of deterioration (as manifested in the presence of potholes, cracks, ruts, or the like) as well as pavement that has been subject to previous repair and may comprise a substantial amount of dirt and other debris (e.g., chipped road paint or other damaged or disturbed surfacing materials). A system utilizing homogenization by liquid asphalt oligopolymerization is suitable for rejuvenating or repairing aged asphalt, thereby improving properties of the paving material.

Modified cold applied asphalt emulsion
Embodiments of the present disclosure are directed to an adhesive asphalt emulsion. The adhesive asphalt emulsion can be prepared in liquid form and applied to a material, such as a film or fabric, to create a self-adhering membrane. In some embodiments, the adhesive can be water vapor permeable, and can be applied in a continuous layer to a membrane. The adhesive asphalt emulsion can be prepared, applied, and in service at low temperatures.
Polymer-bitumen primary mixtures that can be used for preparing polymer-bitumen binders, and products obtained from these primary mixtures
The aim of the invention is to provide, at a lower cost, novel primary mixtures that can be used for preparing polymer bitumens. For this purpose, the primary mixture according to the invention comprises: (a) at least 25% by weight, preferably 25 to 80% by weight, of polymer, (b) at least one thermoplastic tackifying resin having an average molecular mass of 100 to 3,000 g/mol, (c) and/or one or more mono-alkylpreferably methylesters of fatty acids at C16-C18, in particular sunflower oil, linseed oil, rapeseed oil, soybean oil, and/or sunflower oil that is optionally isomerized; the ester (c) necessarily being present when the tackifying resin (b) has an acid value measured according to standard NF EN ISO 660 of less than 50 mg KOH/g. The invention also concerns the polymer bitumens, emulsions and coatings/coated products obtained from this primary mixture, as well as the methods for preparing same.
MODIFIED BITUMINOUS BINDER EMULSION
The invention relates to a process for the preparation of a bituminous binder emulsion for making layers and/or coatings for road construction and/or civil engineering, comprising mixing a dispersing aqueous phase and a bituminous binder comprising an initial bitumen in the presence of at least one emulsifying agent, and obtaining a bituminous binder emulsion comprising a final bitumen with a decreased penetration grade, wherein at least 0.5% by weight of an oxidizing agent, which is neither dioxygen nor ozone, is mixed with the dispersing aqueous phase or the bituminous binder before or during the mixing step, or is added in the mixture after said mixing step has been initiated. The invention also relates to a composition for preparing a modified emulsion and its use for making tack coats having a trackless finish.
