An ultraviolet-curable (UV-curable) adhesive composition is disclosed. The adhesive composition comprises: A) an epoxy curing agent component; B) a microencapsulated epoxy resin component; C) an expansion agent component; D) a binder component; and E) a photoinitiator component. The adhesive composition is useful for forming an adhesive. In various embodiments, the adhesive composition is in the form of a stick. The adhesive composition is useful for securing a fastener (e.g. in a borehole).

A pressure sensitive adhesive particle includes a styrene resin that contains, as polymerization components, styrene and a vinyl monomer other than styrene; and a (meth)acrylate resin that contains, as polymerization components, at least two (meth)acrylates that account for 90 mass % or more of all polymerization components of the (meth)acrylate resin, in which the pressure sensitive adhesive particle has a sea phase that contains the styrene resin, and island phases that are dispersed in the sea phase and contain the (meth)acrylate resin, the pressure sensitive adhesive particle has at least two glass transition temperatures, and a difference between the lowest glass transition temperature and the highest glass transition temperature is 30° C. or more, and in a cross section of the pressure sensitive adhesive particle, an area ratio of the island phases is 30% or more and 85% or less.

An adhesive tape with a backing layer is longitudinally folded upon itself, creating an approximately 180-degree angle at each of two ends of the tape, and a first longitudinal section of multiple layers of the adhesive tape and a second longitudinal section of multiple layers of the adhesive tape such that the first section is positioned above and parallel to the second section. The folding does not crease the tape at either end of the tape. The first longitudinal section and second longitudinal section are maintained in contact or close proximity via a piece of tape, clip, rubber band, or other means, such that the adhesive tape is maintained in a flat profile. The adhesive tape in its flat profile can then be easily inserted into a United States first class letter-sized mailing envelope.

CORE-SHEATH FILAMENT WITH A THERMALLY CONDUCTIVE PRESSURE-SENSITIVE ADHESIVE CORE

A core-sheath filament having a) a core that is a thermally conductive pressure-sensitive adhesive particles and b) a non-tacky, thermoplastic sheath is provided. The thermally conductive pressure-sensitive adhesive in the core includes a (meth)acrylate-based polymeric material and thermally conductive particles. Additionally, methods of making the core-sheath filament and methods of using the core-sheath filament to print a thermally conductive pressure-sensitive adhesive are described.

A volume ratio of the first pigment in the first adhesive layer is greater than a volume ratio of the second pigment in the second adhesive layer.

An encapsulated adhesive for inserting into a cavity having a first volume and a method of making the encapsulated adhesive are presented. The encapsulated adhesive includes an adhesive material of a second volume, and a non-adhesive encapsulant that substantially surrounds the adhesive material. The encapsulant is strong enough to withstand handling and storage, but breaks in response to pressure, exposing the adhesive material. A method of bonding two pieces by forming a first cavity in a first piece, inserting the encapsulated adhesive into the first cavity, and inserting a member into the first cavity to breach the encapsulant is also presented.
