ADHESIVE TAPE

An adhesive tape can reduce percussive sounds or friction sounds, can prevent contamination of a covered article due to contamination by dirt or dust or intrusion by water or oil, has durability against puncture or friction, and easily bends after binding a covered article. The adhesive tape having a substrate including 100 parts by mass of a polyvinyl chloride and, with respect to the 100 parts by mass of the polyvinyl chloride, 10-100 parts by mass of an elastomer and 10-100 parts by mass of a plasticizer, wherein the elastomer includes an acrylonitrile monomer unit and at least one monomer unit selected from the group made of a chloroprene monomer unit, a butadiene monomer unit, and an isoprene monomer unit and the adhesive tape has an attenuation value of 2 dB or greater in an acoustic absorption test.

Method for adhesively bonding rubber-based thermoplastic substrates

A method for adhesively bonding two substrates by means of a moisture-curable adhesive composition, wherein at least one of the substrates includes at least 40 wt.-% of a mixture, said mixture consisting of: between 15 and 99 wt.-% of at least one thermoplastic polymer; between 1 and 85 wt.-% of at least one elastomer; and wherein the moisture-curable adhesive composition includes: at least one polymer containing silane groups; between 10 and 40 wt.-% of at least one polymeric plasticizer; between 0.1 and 5 wt.-% of at least one amino-functional alkoxysilane; between 0 and 5 wt.-% of at least one C1-C12-alkyl-functional alkoxysilane. The method yields adhesively bonded substrates without the requirements of using migrating plasticizers and pre-treating of the substrates.

A method for treating substrates, including applying a composition, which includes at least one latent alkyl borane and is substantially free of decomplexing agents for the latent alkyl borane, to a substrate (1) that has a material having unsaturated units, applying a radically curable substance to the substrate (1) pretreated with the latent alkyl borane, and allowing the radically curable substance to cure in order to form a composite structure. The method is suitable in particular for applying paints, coatings, or sealing materials/filling materials to substrates, such as EPDM, NBR, and SBR, and for adhesively bonding such substrates. Composite materials adhesively bonded accordingly are distinguished by especially firm adhesion of the adhesive to the substrate, wherein conventional adhesives can be used, which have optimized properties with regard to the storage stability, open time, and cure time thereof.

A method for connecting sealing strips, includes at least one latent alkyl borane and is substantially free of decomplexing agent for the latent alkyl borane, to a sealing-strip substrate (1), applying a radical-curing adhesive to the sealing-strip substrate (1) pre-treated with the latent alkyl borane, bringing the sealingstrip substrate (1) in contact with a sealing-strip substrate (2) in such a way that the radical-curing adhesive is arranged between the two substrates, and allowing the radical-curing adhesive to cure, a composite structure thus being fonned. The method for adhesively bonding sealing strips based on elastic and thennoplastic substrates, such as EPDM or SBR, but also for adhesively bonding PVC sealing strips. Sealing strips adhesively bonded accordingly are characterized by favorable resistance of the adhesive to alkaline media, wherein conventional adhesives can be used which have optimized properties with regard to the storage stability, the open time, and the curing time thereof.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR CRACK REPAIR IN RECREATIONAL COURT SURFACES

Provided are systems and methods for repairing cracks in a paved surface. In one embodiment, a system can include a first layer for application over the crack that includes a watertight tape having an adhesive layer on a bottom surface. A first liquid latex-based adhesive is applied atop the first layer, followed by a second layer applied atop the first layer, where the second layer includes a thin polyester textile having a width greater than the first layer. The system can further include a second liquid latex-based adhesive applied atop the second layer that can be the same as or different from the first liquid latex-based adhesive.
