Light-fixable and heat-curing compounds based on epoxy resins and thiols

The invention relates to a composition that is liquid at room temperature, can be fixed by radiation and cured by heat, comprising the following components: (A) an at least bifunctional epoxy-containing compound; (B) an at least bifunctional thiol; (C) a radiation-curable compound; (D) a photoinitiator; (E) a stabilizer blend that contains at least one sulfonyl isocyanate and at least one acid; and (F) a nitrogen compound as an accelerator. The compositions are processable at room temperature over a period of at least 24 h and can be completely cured even at low temperatures.

Dual-curable sealant composition

A dual-curable sealant composition includes a polysulfide having an SH group, a metal oxide catalyst, and an alkylborane amine catalyst. A cured sealant is also formed from the dual-curable sealant composition. Moreover, a dual-cured sealant is formed that includes the polymerization product of the polysulfide reacted in the presence of the metal oxide catalyst and the alkylborane amine catalyst. Further, a dual-curable sealant system includes a first component including the polysulfide and the alkylborane amine catalyst and a second component including the metal oxide catalyst. An article is formed that includes a substrate and the cured sealant disposed on the substrate. Even further, a method of forming the dual-curable sealant composition includes the steps of providing the polysulfide, the alkylborane amine catalyst, and the metal oxide catalyst, and combining the polysulfide, the alkylborane amine catalyst, and the metal oxide catalyst to form the dual-curable composition.

POLYSULFIDE OR POLYTHIOETHER SEALANT COMPOSITION INCLUDING GLYCOL ORGANIC ACID ESTERS

Various embodiments disclosed relate to polysulfide or polythioether sealant composition including glycol organic acid esters. The sealant composition can include a first component including a liquid that is a polysulfide, a polythioether, a copolymer thereof, or a combination thereof. The sealant composition can also include a second component that includes one or more glycol di((C.sub.1-C.sub.20)hydrocarbyl)carboxylate esters, wherein at each occurrence the (C.sub.1-C.sub.20)hydrocarbyl is independently substituted or unsubstituted. The second component can also include an oxidizing agent.

DUAL-CURABLE SEALANT COMPOSITION

The disclosure also relates to an elastomeric material, such as a gasket, comprising a corrosion inhibitor blend having at least one corrosion inhibitor, and an elastomeric substance. Preferably the elastomeric material prevents corrosion of a metal surface to which it makes contact. The disclosure also relates to methods of making the elastomeric material, as well as methods of preventing corrosion comprising placing the elastomeric material in contact with a metal surface, or between two or more metal surfaces or joints.
