Ceramic-coated proppant
A method of forming a ceramic-coated proppant, including receiving a proppant or particle and coating the proppant or particle with ceramic to give a ceramic coating on the proppant or particle. A method of hydraulic fracturing a geological formation with the ceramic-coated proppant.
Expandable metal slurry for wellbore isolation and sealing
A method includes providing an expandable metal slurry downhole in a wellbore. The expandable metal slurry includes granules of an expandable metal material suspended or dispersed in a fluid. Further, the method includes positioning the expandable metal slurry within the wellbore such that the granules of the expandable metal material in the expandable metal slurry are activatable to expand and form a seal within the wellbore.
Date Tree Waste-Based Compound Fibrous LCMs
A date tree waste-based lost circulation material (LCM) is provided. The date tree waste LCM may include includes fibers from the date tree waste produced from processing date trees in the production of date fruits. The date tree waste may include fibers from one or more of the following: date tree trunks, date tree rachis, date tree leaflets, date tree panicles, and date tree roots. The date tree waste LCM may include fibers having lengths in the range of 5 millimeters (5 mm) to 15 mm, diameters in the range of 0.5 mm to 0.8 mm, and having an aspect ratio range of 6 to 30. Methods of lost circulation control using and manufacture of a date tree waste LCM are also provided.
TWO-COMPONENT LOST CIRCULATION PILL FOR SEEPAGE TO MODERATE LOSS CONTROL
A two-component lost circulation material (LCM) is provided having a polymer component and a sodium hydroxide component. The polymer component may include a carrier fluid such as water, a particulate material such as fly ash, a fibrous material such as polypropylene fibers, and an acrylic polymer. The sodium hydroxide component may include water and sodium hydroxide. The sodium hydroxide component is introduced to contact the polymer component to form the two-component LCM. Methods of lost circulation control and manufacture of a two-component LCM are also provided.
Structural expandable materials
A composite particle that incorporates a material and is designed to undergo a reaction and/or mechanical or chemical change with the environment to increase in volume. The composite particle can be combined with a constraining matrix to create an expandable particle upon reaction. These particles can be used in stimulating wells, including oil and gas reservoirs.
Date tree waste-based compound fibrous LCMs
An altered drilling fluid having a drilling fluid and a date tree waste-based lost circulation material (LCM). The date tree waste LCM may include includes date tree waste fibers produced from one or more of the following: date tree trunks, date tree rachis, date tree leaflets, date tree panicles, and date tree roots. The date tree waste LCM may include fibers having lengths in the range of 5 millimeters (5 mm) to 15 mm, diameters in the range of 0.5 mm to 0.8 mm, and having an aspect ratio range of 6 to 30. Methods of manufacture of a date tree waste LCM are also provided.
Carbon sequestration by proppants
Method of carbon sequestration by capturing CO.sub.2 emissions and making a proppant from the captured carbon in either a carbon mineralization process or in a carbon nanomaterial manufacturing process, followed by treatments to ensure the quality control of the proppants so that they are suitable for use in hydraulic and other reservoir fracturing methods. Injection of the manufactured proppant in fracking thus sequesters the carbon from the original captured CO.sub.2 in the reservoir.
Method of pretreating a pipeline or apparatus
A method of pretreating a pipeline or apparatus is carried out by selecting a colloidal particle dispersion having inorganic nanoparticles with an average particle size of from 500 nm or less that exhibit properties of Brownian motion. Surfaces of a pipeline or apparatus are contacted with a treatment composition comprising the colloidal particle dispersion. The colloidal particles of the treatment composition are allowed to adhere the surfaces of the pipeline or apparatus to facilitate a reduction in friction of the surfaces of the pipeline or apparatus and/or lower the pressure drop of fluid flowing over the surfaces of the pipeline or apparatus and/or to reduce the formation of surface deposits on the surfaces of the pipeline or apparatus.
Compatibilized resin-cement composite compositions
Various embodiments disclosed relate to compatibilized resin-cement composite compositions and methods of using the same. In various embodiments, the present invention provides a method of treating a subterranean formation that includes placing in the subterranean formation a resin-cement composite composition. The resin-cement composite composition includes a resin, a cement, and a substituted or unsubstituted poly(alkylamine) compatibilizer.
Wellbore servicing fluids and methods for controlling fluid losses in permeable zones
A method of servicing a wellbore penetrating a subterranean formation, the method including placing a wellbore servicing fluid into the wellbore proximate a permeable zone. The wellbore servicing fluid comprises a base fluid and from about 3 wt. % to about 25 wt. % by total weight of the wellbore servicing fluid of a particulate material. The particulate material comprises palm kernel shells.
