AMORPHOUS SILICA POWDER AND RESIN COMPOSITION CONTAINING SAME
An amorphous silica powder that is suitable for obtaining a liquid sealant that exhibits superior filling properties and preservation properties, and a resin composition obtained by using the amorphous silica powder as a filler. More specifically, an amorphous silica powder is prepared so as to have a modal diameter within the range of 1 to 10 μm and a frequency of particles having particle diameters of less than 0.50 μm of 1.0% or more in the particle diameter frequency distribution and have a specific surface area of 1 to 12 m.sup.2/g.
Heat expandable foam
A composition for an expandable sealant including at least one polymeric material selected from the group consisting of low density polyethylenes (LDPE), linear low density polyethylenes (LLPDE), ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA), ethylene methacrylate (EMA), and ethylene-butyl acrylate (EnBA); and a chemical blowing agent, wherein the composition is substantially free of a cross-linking agent.
LIQUID RESIN COMPOSITION FOR SEALING AND ELECTRONIC COMPONENT APPARATUS
A liquid resin composition for sealing contains an aliphatic epoxy compound (A), an epoxy compound (B) having an aromatic ring in a molecule, a nitrogen-containing heterocyclic compound (C), and an inorganic filler (D), wherein a percentage content of the inorganic filler (D) is 77% by mass or more with respect to a total mass of the composition.
Seal ring
It is an object of the present invention to provide a seal ring which has small oil leak and low torque generation performance for improving fuel consumption in a favorable balance as originally intended by the present invention. A seal ring (1) is mounted on an annular groove formed on one member consisting of either a housing having a shaft hole or a rotary shaft inserted into the shaft hole, contacts a surface of other member consisting of either the housing or the rotary shaft, and slidably contacts a side wall surface of the annular groove at a non-sealed fluid side thereof. V-shaped concave portions (3) which do not contact the side wall surface of the annular groove are formed on at least one portion of an end of an inner diameter side of a side surface (2) of the seal ring (1).
GRAPHENE FOAM LAMINATE-BASED SEALING MATERIALS
Provided is a graphene foam laminate for use as a sealing material, comprising: (a) a layer of graphene foam having a thickness from 100 nm to 10 cm and comprising pores and pore walls having a 3D network of interconnected graphene planes or graphene sheets; and (b) a permeation-resistant polymer layer disposed on a primary surface of the graphene foam to form a two-layer laminate or two permeation-resistant polymer layers disposed on the two primary surfaces of the graphene foam to form a three-layer sandwich laminate, wherein the permeation-resistant polymer layer has a thickness from 10 nm to 1 cm.
Fiber Materials for Use in Adhesives and Sealants
A composition comprising a fiber component having a melt/softening temperature and a matrix material for mixing with the fiber component, wherein the composition experiences a vertical rise of at least about 0.5 mm in the absence of any blowing agent when exposed to an elevated temperature of at least about 70 C.
Caulks
A composite caulk comprising paper wool, perlite, a particulated wood material having a particle size below 2 mm, a particulated fire retardant bark material having at least one axis of length with a dimension below 2 mm and a polyvinyl-acetate based aqueous dispersion adhesive; and wherein said composite caulk forms a heterogeneous caulk which can be dispensed using a handheld caulking gun.
CELLULOSE ETHER COMPOSITIONS WITH IMPROVED WORKABILITY FOR USE IN GYPSUM SMOOTHING MORTAR AND JOINT FILLER APPLICATIONS
The present invention provides additives for dry mix or tape joint compound compositions comprising one or more cellulose ether powders containing on its surface one or more hydrophobic alkali swellable emulsion polymer (HASE), preferably, one that is not crosslinked or which comprises, in copolymerized form, no multi-ethylenically unsaturated monomer, and, optionally, an inorganic basic filler. The present invention also provides methods to make the additive comprising kneading at from 50 to 120 C. a wet cellulose ether mixture containing from 50 to 80 wt. % of water with from 0.5 to 25 wt. %, based on total cellulose ether solids, of the hydrophobic alkali swellable emulsion polymer; if desired, adding an inorganic basic filler, and drying and grinding. The additive can be combined with 0.1 to 20 wt. %, based on total cellulose ether solids, of a dry polyacrylamide.
Novel Caulks
A composite caulk comprising paper wool, perlite, a particulated wood material having a particle size below 2 mm, a particulated fire retardant bark material having at least one axis of length with a dimension below 2 mm and a polyvinyl-acetate based aqueous dispersion adhesive; and wherein said composite caulk forms a heterogeneous caulk which can be dispensed using a handheld caulking gun.
Elastomeric seal
The present invention provides a seal comprising an elastomeric composite, said composite comprising an elastomeric polymer and a negative thermal expansion (NTE) filler, the NTE filler has a coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE) lower than ?6?10-6 K-1 within a temperature range of 220-293 K and is present in an amount of 0.01-50 volume % based on the total volume of the elastomeric composite at 20?
