FLUID LOSS CONTROL AGENT FOR AQUEOUS WELLBORE FLUIDS
The present disclosure relates to fluid loss control agents for use in a water-based wellbore fluid. The fluid loss control agents generally include non-crosslinked copolymers of non-carboxylated monomers. The present disclosure also relates to water-based wellbore fluids containing the above fluid loss control agents and to methods of servicing a wellbore in a subterranean formation by placing the water-based wellbore fluids in the wellbore.
Method of consolidating subterranean formations using cationic and anionic and/or non-ionic polymers
A method of consolidating a subterranean formation which comprises particles is provided. The method includes selecting a subterranean formation in need of consolidation, contacting the particles with a cationic polymer and then an anionic or non-ionic polymer, thereby agglomerating the particles and consolidating the formation, wherein the agglomeration increases the uniformity of the size of the particles. Methods of producing hydrocarbon wherein the formation is consolidated by the method herein described are also provided. Use of kits comprising cationic polymer and anionic polymer and/or non-ionic polymer to consolidate subterranean formations is further provided. Kits comprising the polymers used in the method are also provided.
Chemical products for adhesive applications
The embodiments described herein generally relate to methods and chemical compositions for fracturing fluid applications. In one embodiment, a fracturing fluid composition is provided comprising a fracturing fluid and an additive composition including a reaction product of a diglycidyl ether or a polyacid selected from the group consisting of an aromatic polyacid, an aliphatic polyacid, an aliphatic polyacid with an aromatic group, and combinations thereof; and a polyamine; and one or more compounds selected from the group consisting of a branched aliphatic acid, a cyclic aliphatic acid with a cyclic aliphatic group, a linear aliphatic, and combinations thereof.
Sand consolidation with a curable resin and filtercake removal fluid
Sand consolidation for a subterranean formation can be achieved by adding a curable resin to a drilling fluid. The curable resin can be a furan- or epoxy- or silane-based resin. The drilling fluid can form a filtercake on a wellbore wall. A filtercake-removal fluid can provide a dual function to remove the filtercake and cure the curable resin, which consolidates formation particles. A curing agent can also be included in the filtercake-removal fluid. Sand consolidation can also be achieved by adding the curable resin to the filtercake-removal fluid. The resin can penetrate into the formation as the filtercake is being removed and then cure.
TERNARY WATER CONTROL AND GAS RECOVERY METHOD SUITABLE FOR UNCONSOLIDATED SILTSTONE GAS RESERVOIR
A ternary water control and gas recovery method suitable for an unconsolidated siltstone gas reservoir is provided. It includes the following steps: first, running a silt control screen pipe manufactured by an interface hydrophobic modification into a wellbore to realize wellbore water control and silt control; second, filling a surface hydrophobic modified gravel in an annular space between the silt control screen pipe and the wellbore to form a hydrophobic gravel packing layer for water control and silt control; third, injecting a wetting agent aqueous solution into a stratum, and performing a hydrophobic modification on a gas reservoir seepage channel surface to realize in-situ water blocking and silt migration of the unconsolidated siltstone gas reservoir, and then closing a well for a preset time before exploitation.
Silane compositions for use in subterranean formation operations
Methods including providing a silane composition selected from the group consisting of a dipodal silane, a long-chain silane, and any combination thereof, wherein the dipodal silane includes at least two carbon chains having between about 2 and about 36 carbon atoms, and wherein the long-chain silane includes at least one carbon chain having between about 2 and about 36 carbon atoms; coating proppant particulates with the silane composition, thereby forming silane composition coated proppant particulates; and introducing the silane composition coated proppant particulates into at least one fracture in a subterranean formation, thereby stabilizing loose particulates therein.
CONTROLLED RELEASE OF ACTIVATION CHEMICALS FOR THE DEPLOYMENT OF SHAPE MEMORY POLYMERS
A method of installing a downhole device comprises introducing a downhole device into a wellbore, the downhole device comprising a substrate and a shape memory polymer in a deformed state disposed on the substrate; combining a modified activation material in the form of a powder, a hydrogel, an xerogel, or a combination comprising at least one of the foregoing with a carrier to provide an activation fluid; introducing the activation fluid into the wellbore; releasing an activation agent in a liquid form from the modified activation material; and contacting the shape memory polymer in the deformed state with the released activation agent in an amount effective to deploy the shape memory polymer.
Compositions and methods for forming and utilizing stable, single-component resin mixture
A method of treating a subterranean formation including providing a treatment fluid comprising a hardenable acid curable resin and a hydrolysable dimer acid ester. The treatment fluid is combined with a carrier fluid and is introduced into a subterranean formation. Upon the hydrolyzing of the ester in the formation and the contacting of unconsolidated proppants, the treatment method produces consolidated proppants.
Compositions And Methods For Deep Penetration Treatments Of Fines Migration And Sand Control In Clay-Laden Formations
A method may include: introducing a treatment fluid into a subterranean formation, the treatment fluid comprising: an aqueous brine; and a hydrolysable resin precursor; allowing the hydrolysable resin precursor to hydrolyze in the subterranean formation to form at least a polymerizable resin precursor monomer; and allowing the polymerizable resin precursor monomer to polymerize to form a polymerized resin in the subterranean formation.
