The invention relates to a method including a system of additives which increase fluidity and/or flow capacity and minimize pressure drops from the steps of lifting in production wells, collection lines, dehydration systems and ducts for transporting heavy and extra-heavy hydrocarbons. In addition, the injected system of chemical additives increases the dilution capacity of the solvents that need to be applied to improve the quality of the crude oil (reduce viscosity and density, and increase API gravity), thereby facilitating the dehydration and transport.

System and method for liquid fuel production from carbonaceous materials using recycled conditioned syngas
A method of producing liquid fuel and/or chemicals from a carbonaceous material entails combusting a conditioned syngas in pulse combustion heat exchangers of a steam reformer to help convert carbonaceous material into first reactor product gas which includes carbon monoxide, hydrogen, carbon dioxide and other gases. A portion of the first reactor product gas is transferred to a hydrogen reformer into which additional conditioned syngas is added and a reaction carried out to produce an improved syngas. The improved syngas is then subject to one or more gas clean-up steps to form a new conditioned syngas. A portion of the new conditioned syngas is recycled to be used as the conditioned syngas in the pulse combustion heat exchangers and in the hydrocarbon reformer. A system for carrying out the method include, a steam reformer, a hydrocarbon reformer, first and second gas-cleanup systems, a synthesis system and an upgrading system.

Processes and systems for controlling operation of a commercial refinery distillation column and/or splitter operable to separate hydrocarbons. An automated process controller (APC) receives signal from at least one analyzer that provides information about the concentration of at least a first chemical in a first fraction and a second chemical in a second fraction obtained from the distillation column. The APC comprises programming in the form of an algorithm that calculates real-time monetary values for the first chemical and the second chemical and alters the operation of the distillation column to change either the percentage of the first chemical in the second fraction or the percentage of the second chemical in the first fraction, thereby maximizing overall operational profit for the distillation column.

In accordance with one or more embodiments of the present disclosure, a method for producing aromatic compounds from pyrolysis gasoline includes splitting the pyrolysis gasoline into a stream comprising non-aromatic hydrocarbons and a stream comprising paraffinic hydrocarbons and aromatic hydrocarbons; aromatizing the stream comprising paraffinic hydrocarbons and aromatic hydrocarbons, thereby converting the stream comprising paraffinic hydrocarbons and aromatic hydrocarbons to a first stream comprising benzene-toluene-xylenes (BTX); hydrotreating the first stream comprising BTX in a selective hydrotreatment unit, thereby producing a de-olefinated stream comprising BTX; hydrodealkylating and transalkylating the de-olefinated stream comprising BTX in a hydrodealkylation-transalkylation unit, thereby producing a second stream comprising BTX, the second stream comprising BTX having a greater amount of benzene and xylenes than the first stream comprising BTX; and processing the second stream comprising BTX in an aromatics recovery complex, thereby producing the aromatic compounds comprising benzene, toluene, and xylenes.
FCC CO-PROCESSING OF BIOMASS OIL WITH HYDROGEN RICH CO-FEED
Systems and methods are provided for increasing the yield of products generated during co-processing of biomass oil in a fluid catalytic cracking (FCC) system. The systems and methods can allow for increased yield by reducing or minimizing formation of carbon oxides, gas phase products, and/or coke yields during the co-processing. This can be achieved by adding a hydrogen-rich co-feed to the co-processing environment. Examples of hydrogen-rich co-feeds include high hydrogen content vacuum gas oil co-feed, high hydrogen content distillate co-feed, and/or high hydrogen content naphtha co-feed. Additionally or alternately, various types of fractions that contain a sufficient amount of hydrogen donor compounds can be used to reduce or minimize carbon oxide formation

Generally, it is disclosed a catalyst for use in a hydrotreating hydrocarbon feedstocks and the method of making such catalyst. It is generically provided that the catalyst comprises at least one Group VIB metal component, at least one Group VIII metal component, about (1) to (about (30) wt % C, and preferably about (1) to about (20) wt % C, and more preferably about (5) to about 15 wt % C of one or more sulfur containing organic additive and a titanium-containing carrier component, wherein the amount of the titanium component is in the range of about (3) to (about (60) wt %, expressed as an oxide (Ti0.sub.2) and based on the total weight of the catalyst. The titanium-containing carrier is formed by co-extruding or precipitating a titanium source with a Al203 precursor to form a porous support material comprising Al.sub.20.sub.3 or by impregnating a titanium source onto a porous support material comprising Al.sub.20.sub.3.

A modified Y-type molecular sieve has a rare earth content of about 4% to about 11% by weight on the basis of the oxide, a phosphorus content of about 0.05% to about 10% by weight on the basis of P.sub.2O.sub.5, a sodium content of no more than about 0.5% by weight on the basis of sodium oxide, and an active element content of about 0.1% to about 5% by weight on the basis of the oxide, with the active element being gallium and/or boron. The modified Y-type molecular sieve has a total pore volume of about 0.36 mL/g to about 0.48 mL/g, a percentage of the pore volume of secondary pores having a pore size of 2-100 nm of about 20% to about 40%; a lattice constant of about 2.440 nm to about 2.455 nm, and a lattice collapse temperature of not lower than about 1060° C.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR DESULFURIZATION AND SEPARATION OF CATALYTICALLY CRACKED LIGHT PRODUCT
A method for the desulfurization and separation of a catalytic cracking light product includes the steps of: 1) contacting a catalytic cracking light product with a desulfurization adsorbent in an adsorption desulfurization reaction unit in the presence of hydrogen for desulfurization, and optionally, carrying out gas-liquid separation on the resulting desulfurization product, to obtain a desulfurized rich gas and a desulfurized crude gasoline, wherein the catalytic cracking light product is an overhead oil-gas fraction from a catalytic cracking fractionator, or a rich gas and a crude gasoline from a catalytic cracking fractionator; and 2) separately sending the desulfurized rich gas and the desulfurized crude gasoline obtained in the step 1) to a catalytic cracking absorption stabilization system for separation, to obtain a desulfurized dry gas, a desulfurized liquefied gas and a desulfurized stabilized gasoline.
