PROCESS FOR THE PRODUCTION OF WHITE OILS
The invention is a process for producing a white oil having an initial boiling point of at least 300° C., the process comprising a step of catalytically hydrogenating a hydrocarbon feedstock at a temperature of from 80 to 190° C., at a pressure of from 50 to 160 bars, a liquid hourly space velocity of 0.2 to 5 hr.sup.−1 and an hydrogen treat rate up to 200 Nm.sup.3/ton of feed, the hydrocarbon feedstock having a sulphur content of less than 10 ppm by weight, an initial boiling point within the range from 150 to 350° C. and a final boiling point within the range from 350 to 550° C.
PROCESS TO MAKE FINISHED BASE OILS AND WHITE OILS FROM DEWAXED BULK BASE OILS
Provided in one embodiment is an improved and more flexible process for preparing a finished base oil or a white oil product comprising passing a dewaxed base oil product to a distillation column and separating the dewaxed base oil product into fuel and base oil product streams. The base oil product streams are tested to determine if they meet desired specifications. Base oil product streams that meet the desired minimum base oil specifications are passed to a hydrofinishing reactor to prepare a white oil product, or passed to direct sale.
PROCESS FOR THE PRODUCTION OF WHITE OILS
The invention is a process for producing a white oil having an initial boiling point of at least 250° C., the process comprising a step of catalytically hydrogenating a base oil feedstock at a temperature of from 120 to 210° C., at a pressure of from 30 to 160 bars and a liquid hourly space velocity of 0.2 to 5 hr.sup.−1, the base oil feedstock comprising less than 5 ppm by weight of sulphur.
PROCESS FOR THE PRODUCTION OF FLUIDS
The invention is a process for dearomatization and isomerization of a feedstock having less than or equal to 10 ppm by weight of sulphur, the process comprising: Hydrodearomatizing the feedstock at a temperature ranging from 150 to 220° C. and at a pressure ranging from 20 to 150 bars, in order to provide a dearomatized product; Hydroisomerizing the dearomatized product at a temperature ranging from 250 to 320° C. and at a pressure ranging from 40 to 60 bars in the presence of a catalyst based on platinum or palladium, in order to provide an isomerized product; Hydrodearomatizing the isomerized product at a temperature ranging from 150 to 220° C. and at a pressure ranging from 20 to 150 bars, in order to provide an isomerized and dearomatized product.
