methods of producing compounds represented by structural formula (I) and their use in inhibiting corrosion in corrodible material.

CONTINUOUS ACOUSTIC MIXING FOR PERFORMANCE ADDITIVES AND COMPOSITIONS INCLUDING THE SAME

The instant disclosure provides a process for preparing a lubricant or fuel additive mixture where an oil of lubricating viscosity or fuel are blended with additives that are mixed via an acoustic mixer. The additives and oil of lubricating viscosity or fuel can mixed together or any component of the lubricant or fuel additive mixture can be mixed separately prior to mixing to form the final lubricant. The process provides for continuous mixing to form lubricant and/or fuel additive mixture final products.

STABILIZING ASPHALTENE IN CRUDE OIL USING WASTE PLASTIC ANTIFOULANTS
20230235235 · 2023-07-27 · ·

A method for stabilizing asphaltenes in petroleum feedstocks such as crude oil includes adding to the feedstock an effective amount of an additive containing at least one waste plastic. Suitable waste plastics include, but are not necessarily limited to, polyethylene, polyethylene terephthalate, polystyrene, polycarbonate, polyamide, and polyurethane, and combinations thereof. By “stabilizing” is meant keeping the asphaltenes in solution in the petroleum feedstocks.

Methods of inhibiting precipitation of biodiesel fuel components

Embodiments of the invention provide a method of inhibiting precipitation of biodiesel fuel components. The method includes providing a biodiesel fuel composition; providing a copolymer comprising at least first and second polymer units, said first polymer units derived from a carboxylic acid anhydride and said second polymer units derived from an olefin; and blending said copolymer with the biodiesel fuel to form a treated fuel composition. Alternatively, instead of the copolymer, a dialkylene glycol additive can be provided. Embodiments of the invention provide a method of reducing the cold soak filter blocking tendency of a biodiesel fuel composition.

ASPHALTENE INHIBITION

A method of inhibiting asphaltene precipitation and/or deposition in a hydrocarbon, preferably crude oil, by adding to the hydrocarbon a polyester asphaltene dispersing agent which is the reaction product of an alk(en)yl substituted succinic anhydride wherein the average number of succinic groups per alk(en)yl group is less than 2.0, and at least one polyol.

Hydrocarbon fluid flow improver

Disclosed herein is a fluid flow improver comprising a branched dendritic core comprising a first quaternary carbon center bonded to four second carbon atoms, wherein at least three of the four second carbon atoms are individually bonded to one or more chain extender ligands to produce the branched dendritic core, wherein the branched dendritic core has greater than or equal to about 16 terminal hydroxyl groups, and wherein at least one of the terminal hydroxyl groups is esterified with at least one carboxylic acid moiety comprising from 6 to 30 carbon atoms. Methods of inhibiting deposition of paraffin and reducing pour point temperature of a hydrocarbon fluid are also disclosed.

Friction reducing additive

An automotive engine oil and/or fuel comprising a base stock and an organic polymeric friction reducing additive is claimed. A method of reducing friction in an automotive engine oil and/or fuel by the addition of the organic polymeric friction reducing additive to the base stock is also claimed.

METHOD AND USE

A diesel fuel composition comprising as an additive an ester compound which is the reaction product of an optionally substituted polycarboxylic acid or an anhydride thereof and a polyhydric alcohol of formula H—(OR).sub.n—OH, wherein R is an optionally substituted alkylene group and n is at least 1.

Compositions and methods and uses relating thereto

A diesel fuel composition comprising as an additive an ester compound which is the reaction product of an optionally substituted polycarboxylic acid or an anhydride thereof and a polyhydric alcohol of formula H—(OR).sub.n—OH, wherein R is an optionally substituted alkylene group and n is at least 1.
