Disclosed is a method for producing a hydrogen-generating fuel, the hydrogen-generating fuel obtained, a method for producing hydrogen from the fuel, a device for carrying out the production method, a method for operating the device, and a hydrogen-based fuel obtained by use of the production method. The production method is characterized in that it consists in mixing, in a liquid, particles of one or more metals which are corrodible by a basic chemical substance or an acidic chemical substance for the purpose of producing hydrogen, the particles being kept in suspension in the liquid, and the mixture composed of the liquid and the particles being chemically stabilized so as to prevent chemical reaction between the liquid and the particles.

Decahydronaphthalene as an endothermic fuel for hypersonic vehicles

Endothermic fuel compositions comprising 50% or more by volume decahydronaphthalene, including cis-decahydronaphthalene, trans-decahydronaphthalene or a mixture thereof, for use as endothermic fuels in hypersonic vehicles and particularly for use in dual-mode ramjet or supersonic combustion ramjet air breathing engines. Methods for operating a ramjet or scram jet engine wherein the endothermic fuel is used for cooling the combustor and for combustion in the combustor.

ADDITIVES FOR WINTERIZATION OF PARAFFIN INHIBITORS

A winterized paraffin inhibitor, which is capable of being used for preventing the deposition of paraffins in hydrocarbon streams and capable of withstanding freezing or crystallization at freezing or sub-freezing temperatures, may be formed by adding an oxyalkylated branched aliphatic compound having 12 or more carbons to a high molecular weight aliphatic polymer paraffin inhibitor, the oxyalkylated branched aliphatic compound having 12 or more carbons being produced by the oxyalkylation of the branched aliphatic compound having 12 or more carbon atoms in which the branched aliphatic compound having 12 or more carbon atoms is grafted with a polyether via a ring-opening reaction, wherein the polyether is a polymer of ethylene oxide, propylene oxide, butylene oxide, and combinations thereof.

A fuel pellet has a body made from a mixture of (a) 1-99 weight percent hemp byproduct, kenaf byproduct or a combination thereof and (b) 1-99 weight percent coal fines. A related method of making a fuel pellet includes the steps of: (1) mixing together (a) a hemp byproduct, a kenaf byproduct or a hemp byproduct and a kenaf byproduct and (b) coal fines to form a pelleting mixture; and (2) compressing or extruding the pelleting mixture and forming the fuel pellet in the absence of any added binder.

Processes for the conversion of mixed oxygenates feedstocks to hydrocarbon fuels

A method for forming a desired hydrocarbon fuel product from a mixed oxygenate feedstock by utilizing chemical processes to form ketones from the oxygenate feed, upgrade the ketones, recycle selected upgraded ketones through the upgrading process to obtain a desired intermediate and hydrogenating the desired intermediate to obtain the desired hydrocarbon fuel product. In various alternative configurations and embodiments this can be accomplished in a number of ways, and originate in a number of different positions and occasions.

A synthetic fuel is provided. The synthetic fuel includes a base fuel having a first energy density and a compound, the compound including a water absorbing agent for absorbing water from the base fuel to prevent poor combustion and an explosive agent having a detonative energy value that is sufficient so as to provide the compound with a second energy density equal to or greater than the first energy density.

METHODS OF GENERATING ENERGY FROM CELLULOSIC BIOFUEL WASTE

Energy is generated from cellulosic biofuel waste streams, specifically a lignin filter cake and a waste syrup, by combusting these waste products in a fluidized bed combustor under specified conditions. The heat and steam generated can be used to generate electricity and/or in cellulosic biofuel production processes.

A MILD CATALYTIC REDUCTION OF C-O BONDS AND C=O BONDS USING A RECYCLABLE CATALYST SYSTEM

A method of reducing a C—O bond to the corresponding C—H bond in a substrate, which could be a benzylic alcohol, allylic alcohol, ester or an ether bond beta to a hydroxyl group or alpha to a carbonyl group using a recyclable metal catalyst system. The recyclable catalyst system is also applicable to reducing a C═O bond to the corresponding C—OH bond and then C—H bond. These methodologies can be linked in one-pot to selective oxidation and depolymerizations of aromatic polyols such as lignin.
