Low-pressure catalytic conversion of used motor oil to diesel fuel
A method is provided for reprocessing a petroleum-based waste oil feedstock into diesel fuel. The method includes forming a treated feedstock by (a) filtering the feedstock, thereby removing solids and metals from the feedstock, and (b) dehydrating the feedstock; vaporizing the treated feedstock to produce an oil vapor; passing the oil vapor through at least one catalyst bed and subsequently through a cooler, thereby converting the oil vapor to a hydrocarbon liquid product with a diesel product boiling point range; and removing contaminants from the hydrocarbon liquid product, wherein the contaminants are selected from the group consisting of particulates and color precursors.

A treatment composition for remediating for remediating H.sub.2S, CO.sub.2 and other contaminant(s) in a fluid mixture of contaminated liquids and gasses comprising: a hydrocarbon based liquid; and at least one hydroxide compound dispersed or dissolved into the hydrocarbon based liquid. The at least one hydroxide compound dispersed or dissolved into the hydrocarbon based liquid constitutes 30-50 wt % of the treatment composition, the at least one hydroxide compound includes at least one of potassium hydroxide and sodium hydroxide, and a pH of the treatment composition is in a range of 13-14.0.
SHIP FUEL OIL PRETREATMENT DESULFURIZATION SYSTEM USING PRETREATMENT DESULFURIZATION AGENT
Proposed is a pretreatment desulfurization system including a desulfurization agent storage tank for storing a liquid-phase pretreatment desulfurization agent and a metering pump for supplying the liquid-phase pretreatment desulfurization agent from the desulfurization agent storage tank to a fuel supply line through which marine fuel oil is supplied to a marine engine in a predetermined ratio. Since a fluid mixture composed of the marine fuel oil and the pretreatment desulfurization agent is supplied to the marine engine, sulfur oxides are adsorbed and removed during combustion of the fluid mixture.
SOLVENT INJECTION FOR SOLIDS PREVENTION IN AN LNG PLANT
A solvent is dispersed into a natural gas feed at a solvent injection point to produce a mixed feed. The mixed feed contains heavy components with a potentially fouling portion that can cause obstructions in a heat exchanger. A fluid injection system can inject the solvent intermittently, for instance, based on an amount of accumulation or expected accumulation of heavy component solids in the heat exchanger. The solvent prevents the potentially fouling portion of the heavy components from freezing, melts or dissolves the accumulation, and reduces the obstructions in the heat exchanger. The fluid injection system includes a solvent supply, an optional atomizer, an injection controller, optionally one or more sensors, and/or optionally a heater. The solvent injection system can disperse the solvent onto a flow surface for the natural gas feed and/or mixed feed to form a solvent film which further reduces heavy component solids.
PROCESS OF OBTAINING A CATALYST, CATALYST AND PRE-TREATMENT PROCESS OF ACIDIC CHARGES
The present invention concerns a catalyst and pre-treatment process for acidic charges consisting of sulfated zirconia and cerium for the production of biofuels, characterized in that the catalyst has greater activity and resistance to deactivation with acidic charges.
METHOD FOR REDUCING INTAKE VALVE DEPOSITS
Method for reducing intake valve deposits in a spark ignition internal combustion engine which is fuelled with a gasoline fuel composition, wherein the method comprises introducing into the engine an aqueous based composition, wherein the aqueous based composition comprises (i) water, (ii) from 0 vol % to 40 vol % freezing point suppression agent, (iii) from 0 vol % to 10 vol % of surfactant, and (iv) an amine compound in a blending amount of from 0 ppmw to 1000 ppmw.
ADDITIVE COMPOSITION AS A COMBUSTION IMPROVER FOR LIQUID AND GASEOUS FUELS
This invention is related to an additive composition comprising metal-based quantum clusters (QCs) dispersed in a hydrocarbon medium. The additive composition is useful as a fuel additive, as it acts as a combustion improver for liquid and gaseous fuels. The invention describes a process for the synthesis of the additive composition comprising metal-based materials in atomic cluster form in hydrocarbon dispersible medium. The stable liquid dispersion of the QC has been doped into the hydrocarbon fuels at required concentrations. The measurable flame temperature of the fuels, e.g., commercial LPG on burner has been observed to increase by at least 60-80° C. The flame with high heat through put can be used for efficient cooking, heating, annealing and other high thermal applications. The additive composition may also be used to improve the fuel economy of the liquid hydrocarbon fuels.
Organic sludge treatment device and treatment method
To treat organic sludge while keeping facility costs, cement production efficiency, and a reduction in clinker production amount to a minimum. An organic sludge treatment device includes: a fractionation device 7 that fractionates a preheated raw material R2 from a preheater cyclone 4C excluding a bottommost cyclone of a cement burning device 1; a mixing device 8 that mixes an organic sludge S with the fractionated preheated raw material, and that dries the organic sludge using sensible heat of the preheated raw material; and a supply device (mixture chute 12, double-flap damper 13, shut damper 14) that supplies a mixture M from the mixing device to a calciner furnace 5 of the cement burning device or to a duct disposed between a kiln inlet portion of a cement kiln 2 and the calciner furnace. The treatment device may be provided with an introduction device for introducing an exhaust gas G2 including dust, odor and water vapor from the mixing device to a gas outlet of a bottommost cyclone 4A of the cement burning device.
