LUBRICATING COMPOSITION CONTAINING AN OXYALKYLATED HYDROCARBYL PHENOL
The disclosed technology provides lubricating composition comprising: an oil of lubricating viscosity, a p-dodecyl-phenol-free detergent and an oxyalkylated hydrocarbyl phenol, wherein the oxyalkylated hydrocarbyl phenol is substituted with at least one aliphatic hydrocarbyl group of 1 to 250 carbon atoms (or 20 to 220, or 30 to 150 carbon atoms), and wherein the oxyalkylated hydrocarbyl phenol is substantially free of aromatic hydrocarbyl groups. The disclosed technology further relates to a method of lubricating a mechanical device (such as an internal combustion engine) with the lubricating composition. The disclosed technology further relates to the use of the of the lubricating composition in a passenger car internal combustion engine to improve control of at least one of the following (i) fuel economy, (ii) corrosion, (iii) cleanliness, and (iv) bore wear.
LUBRICATING COMPOSITIONS
The disclosure relates to a lubricating composition consisting essentially of a decarboxylated rosin acid (DCR), a base oil, and optional additives, and methods for using same. The decarboxylated rosin acid has a density of 0.9 to 1.0 g/cm3 at 20? C., a viscosity of 15 to 60 cSt at 40? C., and an acid value of <50 mg KOH/g. The lubricating compositions containing the DCR is characterized as having improved anti-wear and friction reducing properties, as well as improved electrical properties, and cooling performance for use in electric and hybrid vehicles. In embodiments, the lubricating composition exhibits a wear scar diameter of <350 ?m, according to ASTM D6079.

USE OF A BIODEGRADABLE LUBRICANT BASE, AND METHOD FOR THE PREPARATION THEREOF
The present invention relates to the use of a fluid lubricant base comprising at least one biosourced and biodegradable compound having formula (I) in order to lubricate devices and/or machines, such as wind turbines, wherein said at least one compound having formula (I) corresponds to formula (I) in which R1, R2 and R3 are, independently, linear or branched saturated hydrocarbon groups comprising at least 16 carbon atoms, at least one group among R1, R2 and R3 comprises, on the hydrocarbon chain thereof, at least one ester group OCOR4, where R4 is a linear or branched alkyl radical comprising from 1 to 10 carbon atoms, preferably from 1 to 6 carbon atoms. The lubricant base has an acid number, in mg KOH/g measured according to the standard ISO 6618, which ranges from 0 to 0.5. The present invention further relates to a method for manufacturing the lubricant base as defined above and to the lubricant base thus obtained.
