Carbonyl Compounds, Methods for Preparing Same and Uses Thereof
The present application relates to a compound of the following formula (I)
##STR00001## in which —R.sup.1, R.sup.2, R.sup.3 and R.sup.4 represent independently of each other H or a (C.sub.1-C.sub.30) alkyl group, the total sum of the number of carbon atoms of R.sup.1, R.sup.2, R.sup.3 and R.sup.4 being equal to 6+4x, x being a whole number of between 1 and 6, provided that: at most two of the groups R.sup.1, R.sup.2, R.sup.3 and R.sup.4 are H, R.sup.5 represents H, OR, or NR′R″ R, R′ and R″, identical or different, represent H, a (C1-C10) alkyl group, at least one of groups R.sup.1, R.sup.2, R.sup.3 or R.sup.4 comprises or is a tertiobutyl group. Coating composition, method of making a hydrophilic coating on a substrate, and medical device comprising such coating
The disclosure relates to a coating composition comprising a polymerizable compound of formula [1], wherein G is a residue of a hydrophobic hydroxy-functional oligomer, n is 1-10, each R1 independently is a residue of a C.sub.6-C.sub.20 aliphatic, cycloaliphatic, or aromatic hydrocarbon compound, and Z is a moiety having a polymerizable group; Formula [1] a hydrophilic polymer; a photo-initiator; optionally one or more further components, and a solvent. The polymerizable compound of formula [1] is typically present in an amount of 2.0-30 mass % based on total dry mass of the composition. Such coating composition can be made into a well-adhering single-layer hydrophilic coating on a surface of polymer substrates without providing a primer layer or chemically modifying the surface of the substrate. Upon wetting, the coating shows excellent lubricity and durability. In further aspects, the disclosure provides a method of applying a hydrophilic and optionally lubricious coating to an article; and an article like a medical device having on at least part of its surface a single-layer, hydrophilic and optionally lubricious coating, like a catheter, guidewire, or a delivery device for an implant.

Coating composition, method of making a hydrophilic coating on a substrate, and medical device comprising such coating
The disclosure relates to a coating composition comprising a polymerizable compound of formula [1], wherein G is a residue of a hydrophobic hydroxy-functional oligomer, n is 1-10, each R1 independently is a residue of a C.sub.6-C.sub.20 aliphatic, cycloaliphatic, or aromatic hydrocarbon compound, and Z is a moiety having a polymerizable group; Formula [1] a hydrophilic polymer; a photo-initiator; optionally one or more further components, and a solvent. The polymerizable compound of formula [1] is typically present in an amount of 2.0-30 mass % based on total dry mass of the composition. Such coating composition can be made into a well-adhering single-layer hydrophilic coating on a surface of polymer substrates without providing a primer layer or chemically modifying the surface of the substrate. Upon wetting, the coating shows excellent lubricity and durability. Grease composition, grease-packed bearing, universal joint for propeller shaft, lubricating oil composition, and oil-impregnated sintered bearing
The present invention provides a grease composition or a lubricating oil composition which is capable of effectively preventing hydrogen brittleness-caused peeling from occurring on a rolling surface of a rolling bearing, is excellent in durability in a high temperature and speed operation, and can be used for a long time. A grease-packed bearing (1) has an inner ring (2), an outer ring (3), and a plurality of rolling elements (4). A sealing member (6) for sealing a grease composition (7) is provided at openings (8a) and (8b) disposed at both axial ends of the inner ring (2) and the outer ring (3). The grease composition (7) includes a base grease composed of a base oil and a thickener and an additive added to the base grease. The additive contains at least one compound selected from among plant-derived polyphenolic compounds and compounds formed by decomposition thereof. The above-described compounds include tannin, gallic acid, ellagic acid, chlorogenic acid, caffeic acid, curcumin, quercetin, and quinic acid.
LUBRICATING COMPOSITION FOR PREVENTING OR REDUCING PRE-IGNITION IN AN ENGINE
The present invention relates to a lubricating composition for an engine, in particular for a motor vehicle engine, comprising at least one base oil and at least one compound able to release formaldehyde under the temperature and pressure conditions of the combustion chamber of the engine.
It also relates to the use, in a lubricating composition intended for an engine, of a compound able to release formaldehyde under the temperature and pressure conditions of the combustion chamber of the engine, as an additive for preventing and/or reducing pre-ignition, in particular low-speed pre-ignition (LSPI).
Nano-diamond dispersion solution and method for preparing same
The present invention relates to a nano-diamond dispersion solution and a method of preparing the same. The method of preparing a nano-diamond dispersion solution comprises the following steps: providing a nano-diamond aggregation; mixing the nano-diamond aggregation with a metal hydroxide solution and stirring the mixture such that the nano-diamond aggregation is separated, to obtain a mixture solution; stabilizing the mixture solution such that the mixture solution is separated into a supernatant and precipitates; and extracting the supernatant and precipitates.

The present invention relates to a nano-diamond dispersion solution and a method of preparing the same. The method of preparing a nano-diamond dispersion solution comprises the following steps: providing a nano-diamond aggregation; mixing the nano-diamond aggregation with a metal hydroxide solution and stirring the mixture such that the nano-diamond aggregation is separated, to obtain a mixture solution; stabilizing the mixture solution such that the mixture solution is separated into a supernatant and precipitates; and extracting the supernatant and precipitates.
LUBRICATING OIL COMPOSITION
A lubricating oil composition including: a lubricant base oil having a kinematic viscosity at 40° C. of 6.0 to 12.0 mm.sup.2/s; (A) a succinimide dispersant having a polyisobutenyl group having a number average molecular weight of no less than 800, in an amount of no less than 80 mass ppm in terms of nitrogen and no more than 2.7 mass % as the entire compound; (B) a condensation reaction product of an alkyl- or alkenyl-succinic acid having a C8-30 alkyl or alkenyl group or anhydride thereof and a polyamine, or a modified product thereof, or any combination thereof, in an amount of 50 to 1300 mass ppm in terms of nitrogen, wherein the product of the weight average molecular weight of the component (A) and the amount of the component (A) as the entire compound (mass %) is no more than 16,000.
