The base oil (A) may be a mixed base oil containing a high-viscosity base oil (A1) having a kinematic viscosity at 40° C. of 250 mm.sup.2/s to 550 mm.sup.2/s, a low-viscosity base oil (A2) having a kinematic viscosity at 40° C. of 5.0 mm.sup.2/s to 110 mm.sup.2/s, and an ultra-high viscosity hydrocarbon-based synthetic oil (A3) having a number average molecular weight (Mn) of 2,500 to 4,500 and a kinematic viscosity at 40° C. of 25,000 mm.sup.2/s to 50,000 mm.sup.2/s. The base oil (A) may have a kinematic viscosity at 40° C. of 25 mm.sup.2/s to 105 mm.sup.2/s and a viscosity index of 120 or more. Both low-temperature characteristics and a lubricating life can be achieved.
LUBRICANT COMPOSITION
A lubricating oil composition including a base oil (A) containing an olefin-based polymer (A1), a viscosity index improver (B), and an imide-based dispersant (C), in which a first olefin-based polymer (A1-1) having a kinematic viscosity at 100° C. of 3.0 mm.sup.2/s or more is contained as the olefin-based polymer (A1), a second olefin-based polymer (A1-2) having a kinematic viscosity at 100° C. of less than 3.0 mm.sup.2/s is not contained as the olefin-based polymer (A1), a content of a resin component (B1) derived from the viscosity index improver (B) is 0.01% by mass or more based on a total amount of the lubricant composition, and a content of nitrogen atoms derived from the imide-based dispersant (C) is 0.06% by mass or more based on the total amount of the lubricant composition.
Polymer grease manufacturing process
A process for the manufacture of a lubricating grease composition, the process comprising steps of: (a) providing an essentially homogeneous liquid composition comprising a lubricating oil and a thickening polymer, and (b) flowing the liquid composition through a shear-mixing device to mix and cool the liquid composition to form a lubricating grease composition.

ALKYL CAPPED OIL SOLUBLE POLYMER VISCOSITY INDEX IMPROVING ADDITIVES FOR BASE OILS IN INDUSTRIAL LUBRICANT APPLICATIONS
An industrial base oil formulation comprising a base oil, preferably a hydrocarbon base oil, having a kinematic viscosity of more than 100 centiStokes, preferably 150 centiStokes or more, at 40 degrees Celsius and an AC-OSP where the AC-OSP has the structure of Formula I: R.sup.1[O(R.sup.2O).sub.n(R.sup.3O).sub.mR.sup.4].sub.p (I) where R.sup.1 is an alkyl having from one to thirty carbons, R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 are independently selected from alkyl groups having three or four carbons and can be in block form or randomly combined, R.sup.4 is an alkyl having from one to 18 carbon atoms, n and m are independently numbers ranging from zero to 20 provided that n+m is greater than zero and p is a number within a range of one to three; wherein the industrial base oil formulation has a kinematic viscosity of greater than 100 centiStokes, preferably 150 centiStokes or more, at 40 degrees Celsius is useful in a lubricant for mechanical devices.
Lubricating oil composition for refrigerating machines
A lubricating oil composition for refrigerating machines contains a base oil and an additive in a form of a hydrocarbon compound having a biphenyl structure or a stilbene structure. When the present lubricating oil composition for refrigerating machines is used in refrigerating equipment such as an open-type automobile air-conditioner, an electric automobile air-conditioner, a gas heat pump, other air-conditioning equipment, a refrigerating machine, a vending machine, a showcase, a water-heating system and a refrigerating/heating system, it is possible to detect the leakage of a refrigerant with a long-lasting stability. Therefore, when an unsaturated chlorofluorocarbon refrigerant with a poor stability is used in the above-listed equipment, the present lubricating oil composition for refrigerating machines is significantly advantageous.
