Lubricating Oil Composition For Hybrid Vehicles
Disclosed is an internal combustion engine lubricating oil composition for reducing corrosion in the engine of a hybrid vehicle. Reduction of corrosion can be determined by the JIS K2246 test method. Also disclosed are methods for using said lubricating oil composition for reducing corrosion in the engine of a hybrid vehicle.
Use of calcium complex lubricating greases and calcium sulfonate complex lubricating greases for the lubrication of wire ropes
The invention relates to the use of calcium complex and calcium sulfate complex lubricating grease compositions as lubricants for wire ropes. The invention further relates to a method for producing the wire ropes and to wire ropes provided with the lubricating grease composition.
WATER GLYCOL-BASED HYDRAULIC FLUID
The present invention provides a water-glycol hydraulic fluid comprising 0.3-0.6% by mass in total of fatty acid sodium salt and/or fatty acid, and 0.3-0.6% by mass of dimerized fatty acid. The water-glycol hydraulic fluid also comprises 20-60% by mass water, 20-60% by mass glycol, 0.01-0.06% by mass alkali hydroxide compound selected from potassium hydroxide and/or sodium hydroxide, and 1.0-5.0% by mass alkanolamine.
Method for reducing piston deposits in a marine diesel engine
A method of reducing the incidence of deposits on the pistons of a 4-stroke marine diesel engine during operation of the engine when it is fuelled with a marine residual fuel meeting the ISO 8217 2017 fuel standard for marine residual fuels and having a sulphur content of more than 0.1% and less than 0.5% by mass. The method includes the step of lubricating the engine using a lubricating oil composition comprising: a) at least 50% by mass, based on the mass of the composition, of an oil of lubricating viscosity; (b) 5 to 25% by mass, based on the mass of the composition, of an oil-soluble or oil-dispersible alkali metal or alkaline earth metal salicylate detergent, or a mixture of two or more oil-soluble or oil-dispersible alkali metal or alkaline earth metal salicylate detergents; (c) 0.1 to 10% by mass, based on the mass of the composition of one or more oil-soluble or oil-dispersible ashless dispersants; and optionally, (d) 0.1 to 10% by mass, based on the mass of the composition of a polyalkylene-substituted succinic anhydride.
Lubricating Oil Composition
The present disclosure provides a lubricating oil composition which is excellent in metal fatigue life, wear resistance and electrical insulating properties, even when the composition has a reduced viscosity. The lubricating oil composition according to the present disclosure comprises: (A) a lubricating base oil; (B) from 0.6 to 4.0% by weight, based on the total weight of the lubricating oil composition, of a polydiene having a number average molecular weight of from 500 to 3,000 and containing a functional group on at least one end thereof; and (C) at least one selected from a phosphorus-based anti-wear agent and a phosphorus-based extreme pressure agent, the at least one agent being contained in such an amount that the content of phosphorus is from 50 to 500 ppm by weight based on the total weight of the lubricating oil composition.
Synergistic Dispersants
Lubricant compositions including an additive composition and methods for its use in engines that produce soot. The lubricant composition contains a base oil and an additive composition having (a) at least 0.05 percent by weight of a first dispersant that is a reaction product of A) a hydrocarbyl-dicarboxylic acid or anhydride, and B) at least one polyamine; and (b) at least 0.05 percent by weight, both based on a total weight of the lubricant composition, of a second dispersant that is a reaction product of A′) a hydrocarbyl-dicarboxylic acid or anhydride, and B′) at least one polyamine, wherein the reaction product is post-treated with C) an aromatic carboxylic acid, an aromatic polycarboxylic acid, or an aromatic anhydride wherein all carboxylic acid or anhydride groups are attached directly to an aromatic ring, and/or D) a non-aromatic dicarboxylic acid or anhydride having a number average molecular weight of less than about 500.
