LUBRICANT COMPOSITION FOR LIMITING FRICTION
A lubricant composition comprising, in relation to the total weight of the lubricant composition:
at least one base oil;
0.005 to 10% by weight of at least one polymeric organic friction modifier; and
0.005 to 10% by weight of at least one ester, said polymeric organic friction modifier being the reaction product of: a) at least one hydrophobic polymer subunit which comprises a hydrophobic polymer selected from polyolefins, polyacrylics and polystyrenes; b) at least one hydrophilic polymer subunit which comprises a hydrophilic polymer selected from polyethers, polyesters and polyamides; c) optionally at least one backbone moiety capable of linking polymeric subunits together; and d) optionally a chain termination group.
Additive for magnetorheological fluids
A magnetorheological fluid is provided having a reduced coefficient of friction and favorable settling characteristics. The fluid contains magnetically responsive particles, a carrier fluid, and an amine oleate salt.
Lubricating Oil Composition For Hybrid Vehicles
Disclosed is an internal combustion engine lubricating oil composition for reducing corrosion in the engine of a hybrid vehicle. Reduction of corrosion can be determined by the JIS K2246 test method. Also disclosed are methods for using said lubricating oil composition for reducing corrosion in the engine of a hybrid vehicle.
Lubricants for electric and hybrid vehicle applications
The present disclosure relates to methods of lubricating an electric or a hybrid-electric transmission using a lubricant including a solvent system with a blend of one or more base oils with a branched diester and one or more poly(meth)acrylate copolymers, transmissions therefor, and lubricating compositions suitable for such applications that exhibit good lubricant properties, good electrical properties, and good cooling efficiency at the same time.
MACROMOLECULAR CORROSION (MCIN) INHIBITORS: STRUCTURES, METHODS OF MAKING AND USING THE SAME
Disclosed are multifunctional compounds represented by structural formula (I):
##STR00001##
methods of producing compounds represented by structural formula (I) and their use in inhibiting corrosion in corrodible material.
Lubricating oil composition
Disclosed is a lubricating oil composition. The lubricating oil composition contains a lubricating base oil including mineral base oil, 4 to 15 mass % of an ester compound of a monovalent or polyvalent aliphatic carboxylic acid and a monovalent or polyvalent aliphatic alcohol, 400 to 1200 mass ppm of zinc dialkyl dithiophosphate in terms of a phosphorus element, 500 to 3000 mass ppm of a calcium-based detergent in terms of a calcium element, and 50 to 1000 mass ppm of a boron-modified succinimide-based dispersant in terms of a boron element, on the basis of the total amount of the lubricating oil composition.
Low zinc lubricant composition
The disclosed technology relates to lubricants for compression ignition internal combustion engines, particularly those demonstrating at least one of improved seals performance, reduced deposit formation, and excellent durability. The present invention provides a low zinc lubricating composition comprising (a) an oil of lubricating viscosity, (b) a borated dispersant, and (c) a metal-free organo-phosphorus anti-wear additive, wherein the lubricating composition is substantially free of a metal containing sulfur coupled alkyl phenol compound. Further, the low zinc lubricating composition contains zinc in an amount less than 600 ppm by weight of the composition.
