Soot dispersant
The present invention is directed to a use of a lubricant in a diesel engine to disperse soot produced by the diesel engine, the soot being dispersed without adversely affecting the viscosity of the lubricant; the lubricant comprising a major amount of oil of lubricating viscosity and a minor amount of a dispersant comprising (i) one or more olefin, (ii) one or more carboxylic acid, (iii) one or more polyetheramines and (iv) one or more aromatic amines along with co-additives.
Low Disperant Lubricant Composition
The disclosed technology relates to lubricants for compression ignition internal combustion engines, particularly those demonstrating at least one of improved seals performance, reduced deposit formation, and excellent durability. The present invention provides a low dispersant lubricating composition comprising (a) an oil of lubricating viscosity, (b) about 0.5 weight percent to 3.0 weight percent of an oxyalkylated hydrocarbyl-substituted phenol compound, (c) about 0.01 weight percent to 2.6 weight percent of a polyalkenylsuccinimide dispersant, and (d) about 0.05 weight percent to 2.0 weight percent of a polyolefin dispersant viscosity modifier, and wherein the lubricating composition contains zinc in an amount less than about 700 ppm by weight of the composition.
Friction-Reducing Compositions for Use in Drilling Operations
Friction-reducing compositions useful for reducing Operating Torque in a drilling operation are described. Methods of conducting drilling operations using such friction-reducing compositions and lubricant compositions formed from blends of the friction-reducing composition with an oil-based mud composition are also described.
NON-SULFONATED MELAMINE RESIN VISCOSITY REDUCER FOR DRILLING FLUID AND PREPARATION METHOD THEREOF
Provided are a non-sulfonated melamine resin viscosity reducer for a drilling fluid and a preparation method thereof. The non-sulfonated melamine resin viscosity reducer for the drilling fluid includes the following raw materials in parts by mass: 100 parts to 150 parts of water, 80 parts to 100 parts of melamine, 20 parts to 30 parts of formaldehyde, 50 parts to 80 parts of a tannin extract, 40 parts to 60 parts of lignin, 20 parts to 40 parts of maleic anhydride, 0.1 parts to 0.3 parts of a catalyst, 1 part to 3 parts of triethanolamine (TEA), and 10 parts to 20 parts of alcoholamine; wherein the alcoholamine is one or more selected from the group consisting of monoethanolamine (MEA), diethanolamine (DEA), diglycolamine (DGA), isopropanolamine (IPA), and diisopropanolamine (DIPA).
